Well, I decided not to go for it since everyone was so negative about it, so I haven't really spent any time on it...

If it was released nowadays I'd actually think it's just a bunch of hipsters being proto-post-sarcarstical-something-adjective and having a laugh. Unfortunately, it's not.

As far as I remember it was more than that: if you aren't top16 then you are wasting your time. The majority of the top16 of the time was composed of old quakers, that still play.

That part prolly got muffled by the HEJ A NIGGUH bit.
But yeah, it was mostly people who played q3 at a high level and who instantly switched to q4 wether they liked it or not because there was money to be won and the game wasn't too different. It's not like you couldn't see that coming.

Most of that segment was between two strippers in elf costumes and segment about someone urinating on his laptop...

Why didnt' 2gdstudio announce on ESR they would make some quakelive action happen ? Even if that's just a 'beat the studio' show, I'm pretty sure they'd have grabbed up a few more hundred viewers if not more :(

Yeah it was really fun to watch. Even when semmler played who isnt the most experienced quake player, it was still really fun. He tryed hes best and 2GD made some funny commentating! More Quake in the GDstudio!

as good as it is watching 2GD streaming some QL but that madness with no pro account and spawning servers.

seeing calipt playing and fox was fun, that other stuff seems not really thought through >8-)
