This reminded me: FACEIT should make sometime a funniest moments compilation. Zoot jokes, best of Cooller sound effects, mic left on in break, and so on!

I would like to see both zoot and ddk focusing a little bit more on educating low/mid tier players and analysing the pros moves and decisions.

Their play-by-play has become really good, their vocabulary and overall voice management is fine, but nobodys going to learn anything from 'that rail hit' or 'hes low and has to retreat'. Its alright in tense moments, otherwise useless info, because everyone can see that on the screen.
The demos are scarce, gtv is gone and VODs are now the main source of learning to think about the game, about decisions.
Show a little bit more of why this game is so special and why it is chess with rockets.

This shouldn't be the play by play casters job, the role of the colour caster is to educate and inform. However you also have to accept that 99% of people watching Quake, know what its about by now!

99% of people might know the basics of quake, but how many of them understand the high level kind of game? What leads the pros to the moves they make, what things they base around their decisions.
Generally, casters talk a lot about the lack of fresh blood and the inability of new players to break through. Not that Im a great player myself, but thanks to 2gd's analysis, Ive been able to get a lot better and understand the mistakes I make and didnt know about before.

I dont agree that play-by-play should contain only calling out all the obvious stuff. Every caster should be able to read the game well in order to point out important things on the current match. You dont have to be a colour caster to share some of that - Joe Miller, for instance, was very good at doing exciting and smooth play-by-play, yet he was saying very interesting things during hollow parts of the game.

We all miss Joe in the world of Quake-casting :(

If I'm paired with someone like Zoot I'll feel the freedom to jump into a lot more analysis/colour type stuff so if we ever cast together in the future you can look to that I'd say. Last time in the second half of the show with him it's what I started to do. Before it's been a priority for me to try and work out what it is to become a good play-by-play and whilst I am definitely not perfect, I think I have developed all the necessary tools and have them in my belt, it's just a case of effectively using them synergistically-- I believe I have a lot of room for improvement. Also I need to find ways to keep myself awake sometimes during such long casts :D, but this is something I'm going to be working on to try increase the quality of my broadcasts. I don't wish the viewers to suffer too much if I've been casting for ages already and I am feeling the fatigue.

Have you considered getting a permanent casting partner with whom you could switch roles (play-by-play / colour cast) during the stream and thus getting less exhausted over time? Someone such as Thorin, for example. Getting different people to cast is interesting, on the other hand, you cant really rely on anything that way.

I guess casting EU and NA one after the other is simply too long. I'm impressed by how you manage it. Probably having a third man as backup to fill in when one of the casters needs a break would be a good solution, like Stermy did last Sunday for Cooller. And I have to add, you seemed much more relaxed last casts, thumps up for that :)

Ah and another thought, most sports commentators use just plain describing of what's happening, like for the radio (even if it's tv), just to fill periods of the tournament or the game where nothing really interesting is happening. Or would that give advantage to players listening to casts?? That discussion between Cooller and Guard yesterday..
