I am extremely obsessed with the grenade "tracers" i guess you would call them. My favorite part however is your absolutely stunning weapon models. Such a silly thing to get hung up on, but truly these are some beautiful weapons!! The Machine-Gun and Rail-Gun models are my favorite appearing almost elegant.

Yeah I could have played the radiohead song longer, but that would mean a longer intro, which I know most people arn't a big fan of. Obviously I was just wanted to include the creep part, so I even cutted the song, sorry for that :(

I have a very large series of daily/weekly frag highlight videos in 2015 for "the duelcup" channel and this video made me realize what was missing. Weapon skins! That said I will simply be using them as a reference, but I do hope others don't simply copy-paste the whole thing as you said. Very inspiring none the less!

Fixing the minor issues of points 2 and 4, plus the major ones of 1, 3 and 5, and this would have been a 9. So, 8.

The hud errors are obviously .dm_90 demos, which makes the hud fucked up in wolfcam11.0test2. So I ended up rendering those demos with cg_draw2D 0, and added all display messages manually.

When I first saw the description "CA, space CTF", I became very sceptical. But the frags: those 3+ airrockets, prediction plasma, grenade tricks... Loved it. Sometimes I went like "wwwat?!".
9/10. Music is fitting the overall pace, clean config, [+] for the hud.

nice work man... questionable musik, doesnt add to some of the awesome frags, but nice quality as fuck.

I enjoyed the first few minutes and then got bored of the same two maps, otherwise really nice gj!

So over all,
less annoying soundtrack, more variation in maps - some like custom textures, others don't. I assume length of video and render quality as same as filesize is good. Not annoying fx's, only adds to quality. I thought some would complain of the fov value I was using and some of the demos that had some warpjumps, but havn't heard anything about that so far.

Basically music ruined it for most people. I will consider this if I ever make another. Thanks for the high rating nonetheless!

Music was fine for the movie. Just use whatever you want to hear in a fragmovie. You'll never please everyone with any song.

I think it's not the genre that ruins the movie, it's not entirely subjective either.

While I do agree that some genre fits better to fragmovies, what really matters is how you integrate it.

I would have never have thought that classical music could work, Bulgarian odyssey begs to differ though.

Lost Control 2 trailer used some noise stuff for their trailer and it worked out fine. At some point you realize any music can fit your movie, it just needs to be integrated seamlessly and somehow work hand in hand with the theme.

Mele's King of Fire had an epic soundtrack but it all looked flawless, meanwhile just plastering together some spacemap frags and epic soundtrack would look dumb.


That's just my two cents :)

LC2 trailer

I think the trailer audio glitched and shitted on itself?

If you had feedback before releasing the final version this would have been one of the best QL movies ever (bare in mind Q3 movies are better). Just some details made this movie fail to reach its full potential; a 9.

Though a 10 requires something way more produced and mostly be more memorable, like the contenders 2, get quaked 3, f33l and others. I mean this fragmovie was quite nice, but if you want finicky criticism it has to be said your movie wasn't as special as those mentioned and in a couple of days I'll forget having watched it, whereas I still remember the big lebowski scene on space ctf on TC2.

I'm not aiming for releasing the best ql movie ever created. Satisfying my viewers is my only goal, and rocking an esr score over 7 is more than enough for me to be pleased.

However I could use feedback before releasing my work and it most likely will be a better outcome, that is very true, but I don't wanna take this movie making thing that far. This is more a computer hobby I have. Thanks for your input though.

Music I did not listen to, since most ql movies have shit music on them and mostly never fit the frags. The music thing I can't tell what music is good because it all depends on the frags, how to make it sync with the music.
The frags are mostly q3ctf4 and space maps so the air rox are meanless and lame, since like 10000 people on ql or in ql movies have done them now, and the air rox in the other maps most of them ain't dircet hits.... + people played that q3ctf4 map so many times that luck basically a skill they trained lul. would't surprise me if it took this guy 2-3 years to make those frags since he seems pretty shit on the other maps. but the plasma predict on ctf4 is nice a good eye would say =]

Great Visuals really enjoy them. But the Music made it completly unenjoyable for me:( Still 8/10 for the stunning Visuals.

i really liked the pummel stuff on dm6. awesome caps on the spacemap.

the music distracted me from the content. i was more listening to the lyrics than watching the frags. and i didnt like the songs at all though i once was a radiohead and limp bizkit fan. now i dont listen to that music anymore (at least only very very little) and i was even annoyed to hear that old crap. i want to listen to something new and more modern. this music is 2000 as somebody wrote before.

Would put it at a 9! but 10 to push it up from 7.5. Imo it's much better than recent fragmovies voted alot higher. Good watch. There's things i do not agree with, but those are outweighed by all those amazing frags :)

EDIT2: ok, i see alot of hate on the music, although i would never listen to that kind of 90's alt rock myself, its still MUCH better fitting for a frag movie in my taste 8/10 for fitting music, 5/10 for choice, but 10/10 for not using shitty electronic. Ty.

I'm little bit late on party but instead of Christmas gift I'll get a birthday gift which is totally fine with me. ^_^

++ for Sorlag with guitar :D That was hilarious with lyrics behind.
+ for overall content (especially that crazy shit torpedo and total wreckage of guys in 3:05),
+ for texture modifications and weapons fx (weapons fx are amazing IMO),
+ for editing, camera movement, blur frames, FOV and other production stuff.

The only thing which doesn’t fit for me in this movie is music but I guess it’s a matter of taste.

It was some time since I heard from you. I hope you are all good!

About the movie I'm pretty happy with it. I spent more time on the textures and HUD rather than the editing, which could of been a lot better. The music is shit, I know. But for these kind of edits I think it fits quite well.

However I most likely will use different music in future projects, and probably some new experimental editing. We'll see..

and sorry about the country flags. Realsters Holland bind have forever mindfucked me. :D
