It makes me want to pay more money or contribute $$ more, for the game since quake is literally the best game in the market right now. like I feel a sense of appreciation for where this game is today. The amount of skills it takes to become a decent player is not an easy task.

id sound like a real persons name to you? What universe do you come from? This id_ you speak of just another person that plays the game. A face behind the screen. Who knows if he was involved with quake or any other title. John Carmack is the creator, and he doesn't play quake.

Eh.. commander keen was nothing like Mario aside from 2d side scroller. Pretty funny that up until now I've never heard it labeled a clone. Lol duke nukem started as a 2d sidescroller.

I wasn't labelling it a clone.... Commander Keen obviously came about from the work Carmack did on his Mario clone that has been spoken about lots of times in the history of id.

Yeah I don't know of anything else that he did besides commander keen, wolfenstein, et cetera.

Amazing. Being a programmer myself, this video really makes me appreciate ql every time i login now. A lot of work went into the best fps franchise ever made. I can only imagine what could've been made by now if carmack woulda stayed (-.-) he has undeniable talent.

the rpg idea might be true, it was said a few times in the past. but. doom classic before was similar, many various graphic themes for the world = detailed world.

i speculate, maybe the game strife, rpg fps, had to do with this rpg idea.

Romero woulda been proud but instead he had to make another rehash with newer graphics and sweet netcode. Poor guy had to accept a game concept that would be shamefully played for 19years.
