I had a revelation today. I realized that top CA players do one thing almost perfectly every time and that is they go bridge and stick together like glue.
Pretty easy. Go after the injured and finish them off. Act like you're doing something once you're first place. Go after the ones who are isolated. Easy to be number 1 in CA match. I know because i'm always number 1.
Yeah man.. the secret to CA.. you have to get the most damage within the first few rounds. then you can slack off and let the teammate take the fall while you can do whatever. You don't even have to go to the bridge since you're first place. The teammate wont talk down to you because you're the guy with the most frags and highest damage. I did this all the time in CA. It was pure joy and no one realized it.
yea but you must bait teammates to bridge, so they believe you do something great. just before round starts you jump down and spam nades upon bridge instead, while +back away from there. this is a whole science to do this perfectly.
Yeah, what I do before the round, I make sure I'm the guy who types "everyone bridge, go bridge now" then they automatically goes bridge while I'm by the jumpad or somewhere pillars. PUREJOY!
This works for top 3 rounds, after that they see on teamscreen you are standing at pillars, and instantly starts the blaming.
Another good way is to make a smooth rocketjump to pillars just as rounds begin, from bridge. But before you must make sure no enemies are camping over there.
Yeah man. Learning to strafe from bridge to Rail helped me get around a lot smoothly. You are right man. If you seem like you know where you're going, no one would detect it.
we should write a perfect CA guide. All those out there are rubbish, polak play is where it's at.
Also, as often as I can I jump on enemies heads at when they are going up on jumppads at start too, so I can do easy 100dmg at them with RL and after that shaft them in air to finish off with a rail. These are the real tactics.
lol yeah we could man. I like jumping on their heads when I get a chance, then they launch themselves into the air that's where you either LG them down render them useless and then you head off to bridge while they play catchup. lol
Forgot to add, it's also important to write a troll smiley like "xd" so the burnt enemy gets pissed. After that he will either chase you, so you can spam rockets at him at every corner, or just be overall pissed which will decrease his potential skill.
You know those 3 first rounds I was talking about, I usually do bind x cg_teamchatsonly 1 and then I'll only put it back on 0 after I have acquired a sufficient amount of damage. It's tough to read chat and spam when you need to get first place very quickly. lol.
Oh and pretend you're Rapha by flicking your mouse 360, this usually make people think you're doing something special when it's nothing special. Rapha employs it because he thinks he's special since he's number 1 in duel. That gives you full vision of everything around you. best way to catch someone spying on you. Then you know what to do man. You run to your teammate so they'd soak in some damage for you, get the enemy distracted a little, then that's what you bonk him.
It is also special tactics to eat a rail and some rocket splash, just before team is dying, so that when they spectating you it looks like you've been in heavy combat.
actually, lg is for the newbies, because when team later checks profile hows fault it was because of the lost game, they will see your awesome 45+ lg.
All you really need is rail.
Well since my LG is decent. I want to make sure I have enough LG in the reserve to deal with the good players who are still alive. The newbies naturally run into nades, rocket spams, plasmas.
Yea, my lg it good too, much above average. When I'm last alive I often sneak and camp in center, waiting for enemies to either jump down from RL or rocket jump up from center platform. Either of those are ez 80% lg.
It's a plus if your LG is good EVEN greater plus if you have a strong railgun. My LG and Railgun are just great so I would always get the most damage literally, after the 3rd round! You can become a camp beast basically if you're hitting 70% railgun everytime.
Yea I can. But I have low patience when it comes to quake, so I always end up rocket jumping around the map like a retard, and I'm almost always the player with highest net damage output, and most deaths per game.
Honestly yeah. I also am out of patience for quake since he has become the way it is today. So if I'm in a game, I amp myself up by flying all over the place basically to get myself jazzed up for the match. Otherwise, I'd be bored to death.
pretty much this. And when someones last in game, crouching all over the map, like it's a 10k $ prizepool at stake, it's best to start flaming straight away. If it doesn't work, you can always give away HP and position to enemies. Will speed things up.
I never gone as far as being banned, BUT, I did get some peeps banned for 3 days for server whoring with abortion.
Basically I played on their server 2 on 2, they lost and forfeited last round 2 games in a row. Demos in hand, and butthurt loveletter sprayed with axe, describing how this outrageous behavious destroyes my beloved quake. Voila.
This won't work anymore ofc. because devs stalks this forum, and probably don't like what I write, but let's be real. Who the fuck cares about 2 lost games :D
lmao that doesn't happen in America. First time hearing that! Yeah man, I've been banned multiple times. I usually pretend i'm raging and spam the chat. I make multiple accounts. and always end up first place. People can't stand my ass.
Did you also realize they are so insecure they need 3, 4 maybe 5+ accounts to play? I really despise coward culture in QL. What aliasing accomplishes is a convoluted ranking system. One of the two should not exist. Truth be told stats are the root of almost all lousy behavior in QL.
yeah i see this a lot also, many account. then i see bragging of stats. ql have worst culture because stats and wins. noone care but they think people do.
