What planet are you living on? Development isn't a fast process especially from scratch. There's a reason why three different studios put out the COD games. Just sayin'. It will be at least 3-4 years after doom IF and that's a big IF there is another one. That will put me in my mid 30s at that point I won't be quaking because reflex likely will have the players. :P

why would i need to produce any, id make idtech, they have a default SDK for licences for every engine, most of the game types are already in doom 4, there are just 3 to make, which are basic code wise

its all virtual classes, so they just need the game c++ files and put them in the default engine SDK, and most of the coding is done

so you have 1 gameplay c++ file, all the gametype`s are child classes with virtual bools and functions with override the parent gameplay class file, and the same for AI, players, etc etc, which all lead back to the entity c++ file

But where your programming logic falls short is the physics differences between the two games and therefore would not carry the same class or data structures. I certaintly don't want ANOTHER quake 3 remake. Whether that is quake 3 in a browser, quake 3 in a joint, quake 3 in a bottle, or whatever version of quake 3 is thought up of. I won't even spend the money on it if its even reminiscent of quake 3. What's the point to discuss a game which probably won't exist for the next 5 years? I've seen this talk about Quake 5 so much. It just shows how desperate this community is. Don't be miserable and take my advice, stop butt-hurting that Quake is dead, CS:GO is alive and League of Legends have more tournaments, (insert here any popular game), play the games which are available now. So that way you will have a good time until the next Quake will come out.

People bashing OP are pretty clueless about something, an arena style MP only game takes waaay less development than a SP where you have a story, charaters, etcetc. Quake MP are basically the models, sounds and maps.

its making a new arena game with no massive engine work needing to be done with doom 4 engine, and everyone who will play it will more then likely have a good internet connection, its probably a win/win situation,
