It's all marketing abuse.
When the account they're attached to is monitored by market data miners the demographics involved are of interest to them.
Why? eg. want to sell a women's product you target the advertising to accounts with large numbers of female followers.
The marketing companies obviously want to try and filter out fakes though.

Yakumo there are no fakes. They can always set option to accept members manually. Before accepting they can see their bio and activity. As from now I didnt have any troubles. So far all 5/5 rates for my service except one with 4 rate. He was satisfied and really happy about service I provided but he rated 4 just to only destroy my overall rate 5/5. If you are selling a like/page subscription then that like/subscription is a fake, and it doesn't have the same engagement as a genuinely interested person.
Any data company worth their salt would be trying to find a way to identify any accounts added by your service and purge them from their results.

Those people who unlike or unfollow any Social Media site or account is recovered. Those who stay will most likely follow. Most of them are glad to be part of it. There is no fake. On Social Media sites you can see organic post reach - you may always check if members are real or no.

There is another way to promote. I promote customers AD thru my Social Media sites and accounts. This is more expenisve and takes more time to get traffic or results. Directly adding or following is much more effective and much cheaper way.

Facebook is good and effective way for advertising your business. If you take a look on alexa ranks (global rank). Google at first place, facebook second, youtube thrid,... 5 ebay,.. and so on. There are facebook fanpages and facebook groups wich are usually related to specific business. For an example Female members especially from EU are all in high quality and those members are potencial buyers for specific business as for example, handbags store, watches, pets,..
