With this year's
D.I.C.E. Summit 2016 ending (Feb 16-18) we are starting to get some interesting tweets from its participants. One of those participants being
Alessandro "stermy" Avallone as the co-founder of
FACEIT who made several tweets featuring Quake games at their FACEIT booth.
Apparently even a competition was held with
Sean Dunn (General Manager at Big Huge Games) winning the FACEIT D.I.C.E. 2016 Quake Championship!
You can find a short video of the competition and FACEIT booth pictures on
stermy's twitter!
"D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit 2016 is an exclusive high-level conference, gathering the brightest and most creative minds dedicated to exploring approaches to the creative process and artistic expression as they uniquely apply to the development of interactive entertainment. D.I.C.E. is also home to the industry's premier annual awards show, the D.I.C.E."
On a side note this year's AIAS awards went to
Fallout 4 for Outstanding Game Direction and Game of the Year!
"The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences® (AIAS) was founded in 1996 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of the interactive arts."
EDIT: Did some digging around and came across
this. Definitely there was a small tournament, and judging by the names these are mostly devs.
