They're not really comparable as they're totally different in size. Though 3.0 has probably the same optics as the one in the pic depending on what version it is (the one in the pic). And the 510 is superior to both in any case when it comes to performance.
Screw performance. As long as the bloody thing doesnt skip, the only thing you have to worry about is shape. And the shape of that mouse is what makes it own so hard.
Very true :) But I felt about the same using IE3.0 and MX500. And when I upgraded to MX510 I felt a big difference in aim. Everything was much easier to hit. And I got the same effect going from MX510 to MX518. Too bad they don't make smaller mice also for those who prefer that. Only MS does both sizes apparently. Too bad IE4.0 sucks ass.
These mice are great, I really don't understand why anyone would spend more than £10 on a mouse these days when you can get these ones for around £9 and they track perfectly/never skip. The only bad thing about the mice is the plastic feet, but you could replace them with teflon skatez if they bother you. For me the plastic works fine on a cloth pad so I don't bother changing them.
Some people use their computers alot for other things than playing games, and need a comfortable mouse that doesn't put alot of strain on the wrist. I used the 1.1a back in the days, but the shape of that just kills my wrist.
exactly. the lower dpi of older mice matters imo only when you're using them with a high sens. but i prefer a comfortable shape over new technology that's better in theory. whatever accuracy you gain from having 4x the dpi you will lose from having a worse (or just different) grip on your mouse.
MS Blue Optical rules, i'm a leftie so i need an ambi-dextrous mouse - but i still like not having side buttons and it's pure tiny size and weight.
FPS games are all about reactions and control of your mouse(hand), the lighter and smaller (therefore easier to keep controlled - your hand fits around it better) it is, the better. I don't get how people cna use huge mice, especially when they're your typical weedy teenager with toothpick arms (yea, i'm nto much different >_>).
anybody knows where to get this damned mouse i had a ms3.0 back in the days and i was like an aimbot tbfh since i got my mx510 i'm very unstable :/ and i cant find a ms3.0 in any inet shop
The 1.1A signifys that it was purchased as an OEM or "whitebox" product. Where as if the mouse just reads Microsoft Wheelmouse Optical, as in, without the 1.1A, it was a retail box item. There are NO technical specification differences between the two mice.
BTW, www.gamercompany.com has them for $9.95 USD if anyone is still looking for one.
i use the same one, tox, panicore, socrates, cooller also and nobody believes me that it rox ;)
