Guess it helps limit keyboard sliding, the way his arm and keyboard are set up, it looks like he might have a tendancy to push it forward a little.
A sliding keyboard can be annoying.

Cloud plays on a small one and uses the big one as anti-sliding-keyboard pad.
i use it vice versa.
the funny thing about it: i use highsens while he uses lowsens =O
