in the recent earthquake a 10 story apartment building collapsed.. and the immense rubble and horror of death with that building was quite bad.. at that time i did imagine how it must've felt to the newyorkers when this building mustve come down..
heh, this is typical for our world, i mean, asia have had like 100 of this accidents and noone heard of em back here in euro ( compared to 9/11 ). i remember there was a overflow with water back in india around the time when 9/11 happend han more ppl died in india actually, but who cares since it's not USA.. jesus :|
that's not the deal, and you know is as well as i do.
maybe it's one of those things that you can't see when you're in the middle of it, i take it that you're american yourself so i don't blame you but from my pov and most ppl i've talked to the world tend to listen to all america has to say about everthing, and their word is law.
and quite frankly, i'm tired of the "god bless america"-talk, and it's not that i dislike the US, i get it here in sweden too and most of them are clueless idiots.
What about all the thousands of iraqi citizens that has died in attacks from american troops? Attacks on things like busses, hospitals, theaters and such.
If you wish, we can also get into the proven fact of just how many thousands upon thousands of innocent Iraq' citizens, adult and children that have been killed by their own citizens, terrorits and dictators.
This isnt the correct forum for a political discussion, but you know last time i checked two wrongs dont make a right. Youre defending innocent casualties caused by one side, by saying "they killed innocents too!"?. Seriously you cant be that heartless?
I am not but on a declared war innocents lives are lost. To be honest I am sick of the war I think it's lost its focus but I suppor our troops and what they are doing over their which is taking opressed lives and giving them oppurtunity
Over 1,000.00 people died in that hurricane. The united states BY FAR hands out more money as a gov't or by charity to world disasters then any other country PERIOD.
Turning to aid flows, official development assistance (ODA) from members of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development grew significantly to US$ 58.3 billion in 2002 - a gross increase of 11.3 per cent compared to 2001. Canada, France, Greece, Ireland and Italy increased their contributions by more than 30 per cent. The biggest individual increases came from France (up US$ 1.28 billion) and the United States (up US$ 1.86 billion).
Among the five biggest donors, aid from the US has grown significantly since 1997. Meanwhile, contributions from the UK over the past decade have steadily increased to match levels given by France and Germany, whose aid has declined since the mid-1990s. Japan was the world's largest donor of ODA until 2000, after when levels fell below US donations.
