whats wrong with arrows?

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just uncommon to see someone use it. I used to use arrow keys too, but I switched to WASD soon after q3 came out.

I wonder how he has his keys setup. I would imagine it would be a touch more difficult to reach the other keys surrounding the arrow keys.

well with new mouses having 3+ buttons its kinda easy.

I guess, provided putting weapon binds on your mouse is your kind of thing.

yeah i think its better then keyboard binds, liek the thumb button on my mx18 or whatever = rail its nice. only thing is TDM and CTF binds :<

I love my keyboard binds. If I ever had a thumb button available on a mouse that I was using, I would use it for zooming.

i HAVE TO use mouse2 for zoom, but ofc i never use zoom in q4, wel not much

MOUSE2 always has and always shall be bound for jump. Unless of course im playing UT or any other game that has second fuctions for weapons.

Haha, yes. I used ctrl next to arrows back in my newbie days for weapon switching. That was pretty much all my controls back then. Arrow keys for movement, ctrl for weapon switching, mouse1 fire, mouse2 jump.

i used to use numb pad 1 and 0 for next and prev weapon :X

I think shift used to be my previous weapon.

oh man. my newbie days were arrow keys only plus enter for shoot etc.

then once i found out about +mlook (which was seriously about 6 months in), i used whatever the defaults were when you had that enabled. i think mouse2 was +forward, the "<" and ">" keys were for strafing and "/" was +back. shift was jump i think. maybe spacebar.

WASD was fucking nuts for me. i felt so incredibly sophisticated once i started using it. i'm pretty sure the person who introduced me said "Power3D uses this. all the pros do" or something like that.

ahhh... the good old days =(

edit: i'm thinkin about going back to that for nostalgia's sake. WHO'S WITH ME?! (going back to their original setups)

I use arrow keys, and i use a scroll to switch thru weapons, alot easier than assigning each wep to a key if you get used to it
