If I were a tournament player, I'd use a copy of Mein Kampf for similar purposes, imagine how many
people you could rage :D
Seriously though, one could go on endless why-Semitic-religions-are-intellectually-dishonest -tirades,
but that road has been traveled extensively probably by the majority here, so I'll only say this. I've always
wondered about the American "Show and Tell" attitude to religion, like it's some kind of a badge,
I've always thought it to be a more private thing?
Matthew 6:5-13: And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say unto you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
I am not calling Rapha a hypocrite. Far from... Luke 9:26 "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
I didn't post much directly on the interview. Mostly just to people that were posting. I did plus a couple of posts I think. My favorite being DaHang taking a completely objective outlook on the differences in what the social norm is between U.S. and western Europe. Those were insightful, and well thought out. There's a lot of pointless frothing at the mouth in that thread though.
I understand ppl think it's ridiculous, but some ppl should show some respect to religion. I mean you don't have to be religious, just enough to not swear at god, and not use the f word in the same sentence with Jesus...
the first time a pope gets to his knees and apologizes for all the people who were killed or got aids because of what the popes did or said I will reconsider.
I mean, how is this so different then Fatality putting a tiger doll on his monitor?
They both keep something close that they believe will help them focus as far as I know.
lot % ppl in world believes in god. look at good sportmans at any sport.. etc football, after goal 70% players "crossing" , kissing hand and looking to sky and so on.. i don`t see any problems with religioun.. me 2 believes in god, but i dont pushing it to other ppl, living and chilling , not living by 10 god words..
so if u tell me "i believe in god" i can translate it into "i believe in nothing/everything". it makes no sense. and if u would tell me u believe in ur mom, father, brother, friends it makes also no sense for me because this statement has no special meaning. and if u r a christian, to who do you prey?
do u saw zeigeist?
i can`t say what is god in few words and more in english :(
i saw zeigest. i believe that man not created by god, that its evoliution, but where monkeys come from? where 1st live THING comed from.. i believe that it could be more than evoliuotion.. ppl can`t explain su much things and so on..
believing makes u better man, if everyone could live by TEN GOD ORDERS, world would 99% perfect :)
i`m not living ofcors by them, but sometimes it stops me to do realy bad things.. 99% my friends dont even think that i could believe in god, most young ppl in lithuania , dont believe in god , i dont pushing other and talking , dont do this, dont do this, its my choice and i like it :) maybe i feel more safe, that after death i won`t just disapear or something.. i believe in god and same believe in scientist. my parents growed in christian fammily , my gramas , gragramas too, so its normal for me i think.. :)
Religion isn't fucking myspace. How do retards think that they can just pick and choose whatever they want to believe, then make themselves feel better by changing the interpretation of what they're trying believe in?
Go the full length or you're going to hell faggots.
i didn`t picked what i should believe , where did u read this? :) i`m telling that i won`t change my religion, as one post before , told me change to budism or whatever more creative :))
and why u asking? if you want to prove me that god doesn`t egzist , don`t even try :) coz i said , same way i believe and same not :) and i`m telling again, it`s our choice, u like football i like basketball, u like cpma , i like cpm .. :)
I wonder, why is it exactly this topic where you note the intolerance here?
I mean it seems the basic conscensus here is that whatever the topic or opinion you will have someone who voices that opinion. Therefore in a way we treat everything equally. It's just that some things stand out more than others.
But I have the feeling that, both here and elsewhere, the people shout the loudest for tolerance when the topic is religion.
I note it 'cause every fucktard on here has an opinion about/against rapha's christianity.
Why the fuck can't one leave him with his views. Everybody seems to think of him as a lesser person because of it.
And i mean everybody and it's not just random trolling. People are insulting his intelligence because of his religion.
I just don't get it.
I know it would go the same way if he was a believing muslim/jew/hindu/taoist/you name it. It's just plain stupid to judge people by their religion and everybody on here does it. Period.
The point is: It's just plain stupid to judge people by any single opinion or even a series of posts on the internet and everybody on here does it. Period.
It's not fucking different from any other opinion or belief or whatever, but somehow lots of people make it out to be.
my point is that discussions about intolerance always to be more emotional when the topic is religion.
For example if he had put a barbie dollhouse on his mouse cable I would guess there would be just a many negative comments, but people wouldn't be throwing down the tolerance cards just as much.
Oh and please think about the analogy for a minute, because I tihnk it is better than it may seem at first.
Both are just items that we connect with ideas, that in certain circumstances seem unfit or have somewhat negative connotations.
Or what if he had used a .45 Magnum instead of the bible.
Remember, the bible has been used by misled madmen to bring death to people, too.
Just to make sure I'm understood, I don't think or want to insinuate that rapha is a bad person and even less a madman. Just that certain items will result in stronger reaction (comments here) than others.
But people seem to get the most defensive when it's related to religion. And that I don't get.
Erm, how come not everybody just finding this funny? Who cares what he believes in, the man used a bible for a mouse weight... in what universe is that not fucking hilarious?
Nothing wrong with christianity (or other religions) until the second it is brought up to non-christians at which point it's really, really disturbing (to different degrees depending on what is said/done). Anyone who has something they personally can find comfort in and keeps it to themselves is fine with me though.
Don't know Rapha or the intentions behind the bible there so can't say too much about it. I imagine it did an excellent job of holding the mouse cord down so if that's all there was to it - awesome. If it was anything like "hai guise look eis christian plz recgnize how xtra good person iam" - why :(
Random thought of the day (and yesterday since a creepy old man knocked on my door and shoved religious mags and papers in my face as I opened):
How are people finding "comfort" and peace and whatever in a religion that basically revolves around discussing sin, how horrible humanity is and how hard The Lord will fuck your shit up because you are a bad person just like everyone else?
(And don't worry if you would miraculously be a perfect person; Adam and Eve already sinned for you so you're being punished regardless. Which is totally fair by the way, because... Because.)
