It's the same as always mate. They will announce it in a few months or so. Happens with most of the big x360 games. Like Mass Effect, AC, Gears of War and so on.
Yeah I know.. I can't wait. Truthfully, any PC game released on Steam will at least sell as long as its not multiplayer based :); and if it is multiplayer it has to be made by valve specifically =x.
That's something that always pissed me off, a game could be out for years and then it goes on steam and suddenly everybody acts like it's a new game or something, it happened with psychonauts.
Well, everywhere on the internet you see phrases,
like "best game ever", "game of the year", or it that it could become a all time classic like Mario, Zelda, Monkey Island, Super Metroid, Doom ...
By now I've watched dozens of videos on youtube ...
and tbh. I really can't believe it.
Yes, from a technical viewpoint it might be amazing,
yes it is really amazing that they build such a great virtual city in this detail, yes the graphics and effetcs are amazing too, yes there is a lot going on this town, many characters and cars moving throughout the whole city ...
but these technical gadgets put aside ...
what is the gameplay like???
I have a very great gaming experience,
and I can very well tell what a game plays like by looking at it.
Maybe the world might be simulated well,
but the actions of the player do not look too fascinating to me.
And for simulations we have things like 2nd life, etc. ...
so what is this game good for?
Ok, since you have a great gaming experience, would you agree with me that you would have to actually play a game to tell what it plays like?
and you might wanna check this out.
No, I do not think so, based on my experiences in several 3D Shooters, I can very well tell if I look at gameplay videos of another shooter if it is worth to give it a shot ... And I do not only have experience in shooters ...
For me this game seems to be divided in 2 parts,
one thing is a simulation of a world,
and the other thing is the missions,
yes you can interact with the simulated world outside the mission,
but it does not seem to me that this has too much impact on the mission itself, so basically these 2 things are divided ...
and the missions do really not seem too fascinating ...
it's all been there ...
You're just assuming these things, yet judge the game by saying "it's all been there."
Ok ok, you want to tell yourself that the game is bad, because you watched a bunch of youtube videos? Go ahead.
I, for once, like to try something out before i judge it. I think it's an awesome game. It's nothing like San Andreas, where the game mechanics made you cringe every 5mins. The gameplay on foot is very fluid, the fighting parts too.
It's even better on wheels, since every car feels significantly different.
The main reason i like it get's explained in the article i just linked. It's a piece of art, it's funny and it's refreshing.
I'm not very good at expressing myself in english, but i think you get my point there.
I played the game and I have 20 % now ...
I think I know the basics now ...
I give it 4/5, it's a good game,
but far from perfect/pioneering ...
mario galaxy for example is better, tbh.
i traded my GTA4 in and got back £30. completed ~55% but its so boring.. only thing I liked in the game was the "three leaf clover" mission.. everything else = zzz
it's GTA3 with terrible voice acting, non progressive and thrown together missions and a lifeless city.
Oh and yeah, the same tired tired tired old engine with a spit polish and ragdoll effects.
That's barely touching the surface of this rushed and regurgitated garbage but it'll do for now, i'm lazier than a rockstar employee (unpossible)
But yeah it's still fun, but epicly boring after a while. think i might reinstall the original.
I'm really, really sorry that i didn't make myself 100% clear.
I just didn't get why you bash the game in every of it’s aspects, yet tell the guy to spend 70€ on it, albeit you don’t like 90% of it.
But maybe that’s just me.
P.S.: I’m happy for you, having fun with my obtuse comments.
you're so very very vacant, you seem to have (intentionally maybe, i don't know) missed entirely the point i was trying to make; the game clearly isn't perfect.
you've yet to argue any of my points all you can do (and it seems, all you ever do) is 'troll' without any of the humor or individuality of the other 'trolls' on this site, but i digress.
my second post was intended to counteract (not in any real way, obviously - it just made me feel better) the blind '10/10' reviews and hordes of mindless 'fanboys' that refuse to believe anything than that which is shoved down their throat - maybe the same people who buy apple products. it's a pity once people buy into a franchise they seem to feel the need to defend it at any cost what-so-ever.
something can be thoroughly enjoyable but if it has obvious faults theres no need to ignore them simply because you spent 70€ on a game or because a million other sheep believe it to be the best game ever. it's almost as if i've wounded you so terribly by bringing the games faults to life in some insignificant post on esreality.com. (in other words, stop trying to get a cheap 'troll' out of my post beause you assumed i was contradicting myself - did it really bother you that much?).
so to recap: i enjoyed gta3 back in 2001 and i enjoyed this up to a point. yes i'd recommend the game, but things aren't that black and white are they? the fact that i spent £40 on the game wont stop me from being blind to it's problems, the same with anything else.
