yeah man they better not of jus released new sensor for it... just got mine like 6 days ago and its 1800 dpi... when my friend got his today and its 2000 dpi... WTF
I play Wolfenstein Enemy Territory and i got this strange problem from time to time now with this new mouse, not sure how to explain it but if i move around fast for like a 180 degree turn the mouse just freaks out and i'l be either looking at the sky's or into the ground, like it skips or something.
I tested just now and it just happen some few times when i did fast 180 to 180 degree turns many times.
I got the same settings running in setpoint with this new mx518 as i did with the old mx518, same in-game sensitivity and all(38cm@360-1600dpi/1000hz/no accel).
Others having similar problems with this new "upgraded" mx518 ?
Yeah screw Logitech and their stupid DPI race with Razer. Just because Razer has the Death Adder with peanuts more DPI in an optical mouse, Logitech had to go along and screw up a perfectly fine mouse. Looks like I will have to make my current one last forever then.

I had this too. I had one of those mice years ago. The one I got recently has a different base unit, much closer to the g5, bitgger teflon feet, the old unit has same base as ms mx510.
So I think they've revised it a while ago, cos' my mx518 would not do a constant 500 hz, I'm sure this one will.
Mine also says gamers edition, so I suspect, they did some PR thing to breath a bit more PR into it.
Don't care enough to google :)
