quakelive is playable at the minute, it might not be if they were to roll out an untested netcode.. which would suck, so im happy to wait!

I have a similar experience, the rail just feels random... but LG/MG/SG are fine (except for the fact that SG is ridiculously overpowered)

what about lynnux and that other bullshit support?

I'm afraid they'll fuck over the LG and MG with a netcode "fix". I think both weapons are perfectly balanced right now.

1. You want that they release the new netcode this very moment.
2. It's ok if it is not finished, because you want ot "beta test" it.
3. You want the new code to work properly.

First and foremost using cpm as anything but a novelty example is bound to be a mistake. CPM failed, so copying that recipe is likely to fail again. However, that's another discussion.

You must have misread my post however (or you fail to understand that they've made LG and rail weaker in QL, or that the netcode is xerped now in QL, that's what people want fixed).

yada yada yada. The reason cpm is a bad example is because the gameplay was adjusted to compensate for the better netcode. People tend to forget that weapon strength is only one contributing factor, completely forgetting that, among other things, armor and movement are equally important

I have just started playing quake again after 7 years and have noticed that the netcode in Quake Live is by far the worst I have encountered in the quake series.

It is game breaking, in my opinion.

FPS games don't work very well if misses register as hits. It is shocking and ridiculous at how much you can miss a shot and still register a hit.

I can miss on purpose and still get hits.... that is wrong.

i hope in a ping oriented netcode fix....this netcode is just stupid...the predicted latency is the same for everyone so its like there isnt ...still low ping ownz high ping .So they make for a 64 ping the game really playable...but also made a 30 ping 2x easier to hit even when they miss...thats just totally wrong....But i gotta say that with 64 ping the netcode looks pretty ok....if was for everyone like this would be really nice ....even with a lagged damage detection like now ..
