I'm a long time user of Elements of War: 1337 Board. I mostly use the top down view and the Extreme X-Box 360 xController support but with the massive amount of hotkeys I have no need to look for them in other places. The way Ice|Y|aN also include countless of config files and making it open source I really feel using EoW: 1337 Board is a learning experience.

No, I've never looked at any C++ code. Only Unreal Script for UT2003/4/UT3.

I can, however, tell you a few commands.

sv_maxspeed 450
sv_backspeed 450

sv_upspeed (Swimming I guess)

sv_stopspeed 0 (0 is my value, CS has like 100 or something) (I'm pretty sure this is the sole command they added to Counter-Strike 1.4 which locked out bunny-hopping)

Also, sv_maxspeed 450 etc are the values I use by default. However, it's all server based. I'm pretty sure Quake and Half-Life have slightly different values.

thanks, but even while using the same values cs 1.6 and css dont behave the same, I guess valve fucked up the movement somewhere else in the code.

Some commands are hard-coded to that engine/game. I'm pretty sure sv_stopspeed 100 is hard-coded to Counter-Strike. While in CS:S you can change the value.

Also keep in mind some commands change their name from engine to engine. They might also mean different things.
Quake crosshair "1" // Crosshair is on or off
Quake 3 cg_crosshair "1" // What the crosshair looks like

Also, field of view, frames per second, among other variables can have effects too.

When Valve changed to the Source engine, they changed the values of player height or something like that.

Also:
Half-Life added the ability to duck. If you've ever played the game in third person, you'll realize just how fucked up that command actually is along with jumping.

I used to duck a shit load when playing Counter-Strike and I would ALWAYS get shot in the head. It didn't make sense for the longest time, but I knew it was there. Now I'm almost positve the hit boxes are beyond fucked up.

I'm pretty sure Valve is trying to remove the classic tried and true strafe jumping and bunny-hop. With the Orange BoX code they seemed to remove airaccelerate. This is why I really hate Valve. They're so anti-Bunny-HoppinG -_-

Well, not really. It's still in the code, but in their actual games it seems like they don't want it.
