the only reason i stopped watching is because i was getting depressed that i cant play it, so yes it does
they made a lot of changes from d2 that people immediately cried over but i love what they have done, evaluated every mechanic again and they did not keep anything just because its the way it was done before.
for example they removed the ability to spend points on your skills. everyone (including me) went wtf, but in the end their new system (automatic skill advances and customization through runes) just makes a lot more sense and avoids the downsides of the old system.
thats a pretty high standard for "fucking up" dude, blizzard is too good to ever reach that standard or come close to it even if it did make mistakes :D
yeah, there are tons of games like these,
I just wanna lean back in my seat and let my avatar kill all those creatures running around, steadily collecting new items and advancing in skill, it's like it eating chocolate, it's not really good for your body, but it tastes damn well, same with these hack'n slay games, and I have starved long enough now, basically abandoning hack'n slay shortly after the release of WoW, really can't wait to play the new diablo =)
