I really think this is childish behaviour, and I didn't expect something like this coming from you. But then again, you accused other people for cheating in your 'pride & ego crush with 1 hand ESR days', so it's not _all_ that unexpected seeing this thread.

You know, I had my doubts about Serious, I sometimes still have my doubts. But as I recently changed to a CRT I immediatly started to hit harder overall LG, my tracking is sometimes similar to Serious'. Nowadays I'm inactive but since swapping monitors I actually have no trouble outaiming most of the people without serious (hihi) practice.

Now if you compare this to Serious who has been playing since age 10, 4-5 hours a day, having amazing hand-eye-coordination (high level guitarist, you should hear him play) and having played 1000's of games of CA, TDM, Duel and other mode's, then I think it's quite safe to assume he's just a very gifted guy. I know the guy can be irritating and emotional at moments, being disrespectful. But he ain't the type of guy that would cheat, I know this because I played/talked with him for a while now and got to know him better. He's a guy that takes, and has a lot of pride in perfecting the stuff that he practices, and quake just happens to be one of those things.

But go ahead, keep making a fool out of yourself. And never ask me to invite you into a clan again, won't happen pal.

I don't want to be in your clan anymore anyways since the games we had 2-3 days ago where we played 2v2 with serious and me against you and liliq and where you put me to spec (basically you forced me to spec) because you apparently wanted more challenge with Fraze in together with serious.

what did serious say to you ? Because yep he made me rage a bit at some point. But let me explain the situation :
So we started to play 1v1 thunderstruck cause I asked him for practice. He beat me the first 2 games quite convincingly, but that was expected.
But then the last game he had the lead with 13 rounds won and i started to make a little comeback with 11 rounds won. And there he started to trash-talk me with things like :
"OMG SINCE WHEN DO YOU HIT YOUR ROCKETS ? SINCE WHEN DO YOU KNOW HOW TO SHAFT ?"
with things like these.

Then he ragequited the server without saying anything. Then i came back to him and asked him why he ragequitted and why he doesn't respect the opponent, cause respect is very important to me, even when i lose i try to not rage and admit than the opponent is better than me, i can even say "wp man" etc. But nowadays i basically never ragequit an 1v1. Like i said, i don't underestimate my opponent and i try to stay respectful and friendly, because in my eyes that's very important.
Also, as a reply to my question he said basically something like this :
"i ragequitted cause i never played that bad against you, and also you never spam a smiley when you play, you focus at 100% while i was only at 30% of my potential. You are boring to play against".

So basically he said that he's far better than me and that i don't spam the chat enough with smileys and stuff like that. Basically he said that i'm bad even when i focus at 100%. And that he can rape me anytime anyday when he's not only at 30%.

How would you react with such attitude ? When i play weaker opponents than me i NEVER trash-talk them or say stuff like "omg i'm playing so bad i'm almost as bad as you", and i NEVER ragequit when they play well and almost beat me. Actually i even give advices on how to do to get better at this or that, if they ask me.
Basically i try to stay nice and friendly, and if i can help, i do it.

Also, last but not least, when serious was still playing on 60hz and when i beat him basically almost everytime, i NEVER trash-talked him and make him think that i'm an arrogant asshole. I even uploaded to my youtube channel a demo of him beating me. I NEVER whined or raged when i played against him when he was on 60hz.
But nowadays when i ask serious for advices regarding the aim, he basically say to me "just aim, as simple as that". Is it really an useful advice ? :/

Most of it is cuz I was pissed off that whole day, you know it ur self, had various lag problems, lag spikes for no reason, shouldn't have been playing that day.

But yeah, I agree with Serious being a spoiled little brat at moments, raging, shittalking, trashtalking and not respecting most of the people he plays against. You have no idea how many times I've been confronting him with his behaviour. Even midgame during cups @ teamspeak or in general when we play @ pubs. Lately I even patronized him while he was shittalking Mentor & PH on public chat with a lot of specs, something which hurted his feelings. I know this, you know this, everone knows this about Serious. He has this passion for the game which makes him super dedicated and prone to raging, besides that, he's still a kid, give him a break.

On the other hand I really admire and respect your attitude towards your teammates and opponents ingame. But you know Serious longer than I do, you are familiar with his behaviour and whatnot. Still you post stuff like this at his expense. You need to agree you're just mad about what happened and can't maintain being the older guy in this case. Be the better man, really.

And coming back to the embarracing stuff. No thanks, bro. No need for me to feel that freakin' awkward again thinking about it.

after watching this video 25 times, i can say there might be a hint of cheating

to be honest, I don't really see anything completely unbelievable. it's just really good LG tracking. hitting people when they're not totally paying attention to your shaft is not that hard, and I for one can track just as well while being bounced by rockets. and you can always see him adjusting (in a pretty human way) his aim while being bounced. it is mechanical precision, but pretty much human.

I disagree with you there. Some people even with a elo of 2200+ are not known for their dodges (on the other hand, spart1e, for sure knows how to dodge, and in the video i showed of serious, he was in a 1v1 situation with spart1e quite often).

I mean, for example, stermy's little brother, hal, hits insanely high lg accuracy but in the mean time doesn't really dodge well. Still, his aim alone makes him one of the top CA player in europe.

I guess that you played against aim-heavy players rather than dodge-heavy.

Well, keyboardking is a well known half-life 1 deathmatch player. He's one of the best player in this game, along with people like superbiggy and GaRpY. He's even stronger than GaRpY at adrenaline mod (half-life 1 mod).
He's also more than decent at quakelive, so it was not like i hitted 71% on a complete noob :p

But yeah, on the other hand, i can't hit more than 35% on very good dodge players.

Also, don't get me wrong, I NEVER said my aim is spot on. The 71% example was just to show than ofc hitting more than 45% is very doable, but it depends on the opponent's movement pattern.

Actually, it's far more than 3.5 years, I have a pic of him, slaying bots on nightmare - he was barely 4 yo. He practically grew up, seeing quake here and there, although neither of us, bros (vo1d, the oldest brother and myself - nme), did a lot of quaking in those days... :)

It's because I made a 7 year break from Quake... they were never raping me, I was always in the top, hitting 38-43% lg, the CRT made me superhuman after.

He really steadily improved in QuakeLive, I have absolutely NO CLUE y u think he got "better overnight". If you think that 3-4 years, 4-6 hours per day over the summer, and 1-2 hours per day rest of the year - vs top players - is overnight, I really don't know what to say. Looking by the time spent in game, he actually played in one month (i think december 2012) more than I played in almost two years. And also, I remember him losing so many times to hertless, rmx, many, many good guys, before he was at their level for a long time, then slowly surpassing them through the last year or so. Just ask them for how long they played him. Even I was once able to beat him, in quake, although like 2 years ago. But I can still do it in real life, at least for a few years... :D

Not all aimbots are that primitive.

"Good" cheats haven't been like that for several years already. If I understand correctly they're just like fluid magnets that pull (strength and distance before activation adjustable; lower settings = harder to detect) towards enemies you're already aiming at. They're "just" help so you can do your thing but always hit just a little more than you actually deserve.

It's called aim assist or humanized aimbots, but I prefer calling them aim assist :D, and aim assists can be found in so many forms nowadays (like legit drivers), yeah you are right that they are "good" cheats, not everyone sees the differences, updating anticheats can counter them though!

Yes, Roccat Aim Assist, Razer Aim Assist for instance just to tell two which were very famous in some communities, but for the first one a wave (even two iirc, gotta look again for the drama rofl) of detection last year banned soooooooo many cheaters who thought they would never get caught, but of course it doesn't mean they are not back with something PB/UAC/ESLwire/etc can't detect (yet).

- Frank Gambale licks are about economy of motion and synchronization. Nothing to do with hand-eye co-ordination and not so much to do with muscle memory
- Joe Passes chord progressions don't have anything to do with muscle memory, hand-eye co-ordination, etc.
- Paco's finger technique is muscle memory but absolutely nothing to do with hand-eye co-ordination.


Whilst I can agree that playing technical guitar surely gives a possible advantage in terms of muscle memory, they're different fields compared to aiming in an FPS. Depends on how you aim I guess and I've done journal threads about this before. I would have considered muscle memory as recognising distances in relation to your sensitivity. That's about it. The rest I'd say is hand-eye co-ordination which guitar playing has nothing to do with.

Hm. So, simply said, you can get flexible, agile and fast, with great anticipation, reflexes and coordination without ever practicing, anything? Does that applies to whole body? IMO seriously practicing any instrument does bring you a lot. If you think you can, for example, sit @piano and play independently with both hands with great precision and timing, or sit at drums and (un)coordinate hands and legs or in the end do some Paco style fingering on guitar, without YEARS of practice, then you're really naive. Finally, all that achieved skill, practice translates partially into everything else you're doing, including games. And Quake being such a hard, anticipation and reflex dependent game, surely benefits from fast and trained hands and mind.

Quake is hand/eye coordination, playing an instrument is more hand/ear ( there is a whole bunch of blind players )

So imo maybe you'll get a slight advantage if you'r a newcomer over other newcomers who never touched an instrument nor video games but that's all.
With practice every Quake player will reach his maximum potential, guitar or not.

My conclusion come also from my own experience, i'm tattoo artist, it's also hand/eye skills and my right hand is used to be very precise, but Quake is too different so i don't feel like i get benefits from it.

I don't know this guy or anything about him but aside from his slightly stuttery (or quick, depends how you look at it) adjustments while shafting, which isn't unique to him, I can't see anything wrong. It's good LG for sure, but look at the situations where he's hitting the "insane" LG. Most (basically all) of the time the opponent doesn't have the chance to or can't dodge well in the various situations.

Take the 3:30'ish moment which maybe people are referring to when saying he's being bounced about and still maintaining aim, he is knocked straight back and with a decent amount of air but there are no followup shots, meaning he is free to aim with no major adjustments needed. The movement pattern of his target is not difficult to hit here either.

Someone else pointed out 3:16'ish, this is good aim assisted by the fact that his target, using rockets, failed to land a single shot. When someone with good aim is not disturbed by any knockback, this is what happens.

But people don't mention the beginning where he nearly lost an LG vs LG battle with 200/100, now fair enough the opponent had the first shot but we don't know how much health he had, Serious starts hitting at 186/70 and wins this fight with 6 health left. Unless his opponent was also 200/100 then this was an even fight. Are we saying there was no cheat enabled in this fight, or that his opponent LG's at the same level and therefore also cheats?

As I said though, I don't know this guy, maybe he does cheat, skimming through topics in the past he has some weird "cover" stories where it would probably look better if he had just said nothing instead. Just because he has high LG in a round doesn't prove anything, you would need to find a demo that displays him hitting incredibly difficult LG consistently and then you might have something. He will never be able to prove online that he doesn't use anything though, which is a shame for him. Modern aimbots are far more insidious than wallhacks.

I had my doubts but there is no bot that hits inconsistent and different accuracies every time.
I've seen him do pretty bad, get out lg'd, lose fights etc.

This is just incorrect based on how aim assist works. The entire point of aim assist is to allow for inconsistency (without having to "toggle" or worry, just a little helper) and generally being hard to see.

Anyway you could find more suspiscious behavior on Evil's games around an year ago. He was seriously bounced around every freaking time and still hitting 100% lg.. What i see here is a very strong initial 1v1 lg and very strong lg vs rockets when the round starts.. Then it's mostly lack of spam and lging in bad positions, good angles and some lucky stretches.

I was going to reply to someone up there about the rockets. I think it's because when you switch between hitscan and projectiles you don't always adapt right after to the different type of weapon, you might tend to over react or over correct or still kinda aim as if you hold hitscan or projectile, this is why his rockets "suck" sometimes in the video. Now that's just my opinion :D.

Banning fragma wasn't up to me either but it was done in large part because of the video I've made. I am all for CSI:QL actually, I find it unfortunate that they are no more... And I actually click a lot on "BUSTED" threads in other communities (CS/COD1-2-4), because I played these games a lot too. It doesn't mean that I'm all the time enjoying reading accusations in the same form you made, and most people do. Since I knew admins who had to clean COD communities, I've seen the amount of work they had to do, between stupid complaints and actually "good" ones. CSI:QL compared to what I was seeing amongst admins is the closest form of "accusation" that is "ok", in my opinion at least. You don't have to agree, however when you have to check many people daily, it's just a relief when someone put the right effort into it: video, timestamps, use /timescale when needed, upload, open thread/ticket, send demo(s), aaaaand done. What most people do here is "bla" and "bla" with poor illustration, and even if it's not poor, then why doing it >> here? Still doesn't make sense.

think ive played against serious (then sanitarum/n1ghtmare) once since his upgrade from laggy pc and monitor but he was giving as good a fight as some of the players in the 4v4 game heartless linked to. im not at all surprised to see such a drastic imporvement when giving a talented player a proper setup.

In wolf whisperer @ 0.1 speed. You can see this blatant aim assist. He starts the round LG'ing enemy knoxe and then rope comes into the FOV behind knoxe. Aim assist is having a difficult time picking a target. So he starts to fight his LG to get it from switching targets. Then as the second ticks from 14 to 15 you can see the auto aim start to twitch. In real time you would not be able to see this, but the micro corrections are there. This is 100% proof that in my mind he is using assist.

q3 engine madness happening again.

Same story with Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory. A free q3 engine based game with pretty much the same aim/movement as LG in quakelive. In the end I didn't even care if someone cheated. Their aim is slightly better than a normal "high skilled" player but at the same time they got less experience and brain. It made playing sometimes even more exciting.

There are so many aspects with LG and accuracy. Look at other "super über lg players".. they often backward, sideshoot the enemy and pretty much let their mates tank for them. Not hard to get high accuracy with that kind of playing. Even though serious was so super über good his team still lost. That is all that counts. It's a team game but unfortunately 99% don't know how teamplay works :S

In any case, the slow motion youtube vid above looks a bit weird. But as a previous member of the "Clanbase Anti-Cheat Team" I would say that one weird scene is by far not enough to bust a player. Have seen crazier stuff and the players were legit.

I've never understood this point people try and make, firstly his rockets aren't even bad in this video at all, but lets ignore that. Why should someone have the same level of aim with two completely different weapons? Projectile aiming with a rocket launcher is worlds apart from hitscan/track aiming with a lightning gun. People have different strengths and weaknesses, and assuming he is legit, Serious has obviously put a lot of focus into his LG, why would his rockets be at the same level?

When I started with Quake I knew after a while that hitscan was going to be the strongest area of my game, after years of practice my hitscan abilities went far beyond my rockets because I chose to focus on them. Almost all players have specialised skills that are beyond the rest of their skillset.
