Fatal1ty was never good in UT. I remember back the first CPL when UT2k3 just came out. He had no idea of UT but he was allowed to make the rules for the tournament. Of course the rules where only directly announced before the tournament So the real good german oldschool UT players had no chance to prepare. They ended up playing with amp in duel. They had to play with weapon model on and highest details and were not allowed to change it. That's the truth about him winning a single UT tourney. Of which he is very proud about and shows off the world he is even mastering UT.

Nobody really had any experience of UT2003 at all, it was a completely new game. Fat was rumoured to have early access or something! On top of that the guys that actually travelled from Europe were few and far between tbh. Not taking anything away from Fat overall, great FPS player! But that CPL was very random, regarding standings. I think the guy who finished 2nd was never seen again. :P

I recall people literally booing when he kept back-pedalling with the shield gun on, only ever daring to make an offensive move (ambush) when he was absolutely certain he had at least 150HP+ more than his opponent.

The other thing is that he managed to not play a single top player in his UT career, which is another reason why he managed to win something.
