So, I want to play Q3 again and don't know what to play. I live in Russia, so what's better?
CPMA? QL(steam only now)?
Also I've heard about some PQL (turbo?), is it OK?
I love CPMA, but is it still alive? What about EU/RU servers and players?
It has turbo gamemode(id's atempt for cpma), but not sure how many players plays that currently. Reflex is maybe the mest option for cpma like expirience.
Hmm..
>overall improved gameplay over VQ3
>overall
>improved
Isn't CPMA already overall improved over Q3? :) Vanilla Q3(QL) is way too COUNTERSTRIKE (I mean it's too slow and not so dynamic as CPMA).
Watched some Reflex vid's, well. It seems to be really awesome game. One thing I don't like is this "Early access" fashion, when you can pay for alpha/beta and then wait forever till release.
I don't get one thing about QL. WHY? Why they make QL this way?
Why QL isn't the new CPMA? Why Reflex is new CPMA?
This is ridiculous.
>Developer: id Software
WAT? ARE YOU KUЯVVA KIDDING ME? How ID done this QuakeGO instead of new pro cyberdiscipline?
They already have what is work and loved by so much people: Q3A CPMA, why don't they done something like:
CMPA with QL rank system and better graphics for noobs? And no gibs? In Quake? Seriously? Make some fukk3n option ( [ v ]YES I'M UNDER 18(21) AND I'M ADULT ENOFFF FOR GIBS). Now they want to make a GIBS DLC? OMG... it's worse than COLLOFDYUTIE. QL isn't a Quake, it's an outrage, blasphemy of Quake series.

If you think CPMA is so much more superior than VQ3 (QL), then just play Reflex, whats the problem?
VQ3(QL) is very very popular among Quakers for a reason, it allows more tactical gameplay. While CPMA certainly favours players with the need for speed.
If you have the wrong weapon out given the situation and realize it only when your opponent can already shoot you, you'll be heavily penalized without instant switching.
I hope reflex grows as player base. Looks really awesome.
As for VQ3 vs cpma, the arguments are simple. VQ3 has been bigger and had more competition. It's slower, so positioning matters more, and it's less spectacular/twitchy. Similar arguments are made for CS vs VQ3, or AA vs CS. It's a continuum, where players try to justify biasedly why their pick is the best, while in reality they might as well have picked a different game if their history had been slightly different. The reality is they are different games, with things to enjoy in each, and those super opinionated about why one is so obviously much better than the others are simply expressing desire of recognition of their choice, but should imho reconider what 'best' actually means.
