I would go with the AOC, 3.6ms input lag including signal processing. Also when you turn on the 240hz frame interpolation thing on the LG it increases input lag by ~6ms

There's a 3rd competitor on the track; ACER Predator GN246HL Bbid.

An older model, totally basic stuff, only swivel function, no pivot, no DP or USB, no speakers, no FreeSync, but its $30-35 cheaper than the AOC - and 5 year warranty instead of 3.

Can't say I have. Someone on blurbusters forum did some tests and benq xl2411t was a lot faster than the Acer though. The contrast ratio is quite low (fine when u have NVidia colors etc) but there's no good tests for input lag that I can find.

The AOC looks like the best option, fast panel, has confirmed low input lag and good contrast ratio ~1000:1.

Ye, it seems I'm always coming back to AOC. Pretty good price and every hefty extra you want from a TN monitor. Would be nice to know for sure if the company's monitors tend to last.

Just check the thread of that nut that tested like 10 different panels. Apparantly an IIyama monitor with budget prizing was mostly preferred.

I know about that thread. Well, ye, iiyama is iiyama, but it's about 45-50 bucks more expensive than the AOC and I'm on a really tight budget now.

If I were you I'd buy a 2nd hand monitor like I did a while ago. I got one with more than a year warantee (XL2411 benq) and I'm happy with how it performs. It takes a while to tweak one properly, but there is a big knowledgebase online who can help you with it if necessary.

I wouldn't settle for a cheap monitor if I were you, it's something you stare at multiple hours a day and you want it to perform. If you're able to find someone on craigslist who sells you can go by and check for dead pixels and/or how it functions, that way you can be more sure.

I live in Hungary so craigslist is not really an option. Well, I have others for 2nd hand stuff, but I'd like to get a brand new unit for this price and my options are quite limited due to other circumstances - but I see your point.

I went with the LG after quite a bit of research. Not sure where that "3.6ms of input lag" on the AOC has come from, but everything I've read says the LG has less lag, (with its low latency mode). The LG has nice colours too.

28ms input lag @ 60hz, would it really reduce by that much going up to 144hz?

The LG has less lag @ 60hz so would probably expect the same at 144?

OMFG not the SMTT tool?!?! any test that gives <5ms input delay on an lcd screen seems pretty misguided.

On an IPS LED, theyre getting close, but afaik theyre not <5ms yet. On LCD definatly not. Don't believe everything you read on the internet, I used to be pretty naive too ;) I would recommend looking at a few different sources, maybe start here http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/

all these input lag tests at monitors reviews are mess. different methods, quality of tests, etc. they can't be compared at all.

I've tested myself with SMTT Tool 2.0 and Leo Bodnar Signal Tester. My argumentation is sound enough for me.

did you use CRT as baseline (reference) with SMTT?

Tested just on 60, 120 and 144hz on 800*600
