So, I present this idea to all the noobs stupid enough to read this, and by presenting it to you I am ready for everyone to call me a stupid idiot noob, but I don't really care.
So, that being said.... I've come to realize that our e-sport is not meant for TV. If you ever watch sports on TV you will realize that almost every sport has time for what is called "TV timeouts". Those are timeouts organized by television stations so that they can play commercials. Since our sport is 15 minutes of non-stop action, theres no room for commercials, and a commercial every 15 minutes is not good business for television.
If you look at most sports today(excluding soccer), there is room for TV timeouts. Stoppages of play in baseball, hockey, football, or in between sets in tennis. The set system sets up a lot of play, yet still a lot of time for television stations to make money.
With this in mind, I propose this: switch our game to a tennis-style set system.
What that would be is:
-- 3 maps like normal
-- Each map has five 5minute rounds.
-- The first to 3 rounds wins the set. That is still 15 minutes of play minimum per map, with a possibility of 25 minutes of play.
-- First person to wins 2 maps wins the game, like normal.
Not only will this add ample opportunity for television timeouts for stations to advertise... but it will get people more into the game. I'm pretty sure we all hate having to play Quake for 15 minutes in a row, this way it will lessen round times and make each set more exciting.
It's obviously the best idea ever, and now you get to tell me why its not.
Discuss.

15 minutes really isn't long at all and due to "warmup" periods at the start of each map there is enough time for adverts and even analysis from the commentators/presenters.
