wonderful stuff, constant pressure from both throughout pushes them to the limit.

Funny to see how far initiative, instinc and reflexes have come, well something that looks standard (today) obviously took a good time to establish. Some of the stuff they attempt, well... pull of constantly would just get you anhilated and the best part is it takes so long for ZeRo4 to react. :p

Anyway, to all the morons who said movement in Q3 was easy and extremely quick to learn (I don't just mean circle, and strafe jumps) this demo should be enough to shut you up.

Circle and strafe jumps are fairly easy compared to solid crouch sliding. So what exactly do you mean if you don't just mean circle and strafe jumping. IMO they are the "hardest" in Q3 basic movement (not trick jumps), and they aren't even that hard. So... ?

Varying movement based on how the enemy is moving, gliding in and out of battles quickly and smoothly, posistioning, manevouring around basic map lines, standard does and don'ts in terms of where you are manervouring to (coming out of the portal and getting way to close to the edge is a perfect example here), general mouse control when moving around and pre aiming at stuff you can't see all consitute to movement. Put it all together and you get games that look fast smooth and effortless like today. All of what I mentioned falls into movement / manevouring around a map and make a hell of a lot of difference in your game.

Keeping in mind this demo is almost 2 years after Q3 came out, with best of the best players dueling on maps they are good at, you think such obvious mistakes (we see them because we've seen hundreads of games with better player) would filter out of the game within months. I think this is where kdawg was getting with the whole 'some players know how to win and will (olympic class)' thing, but thats another topic.

Before you jump on me and blab on about QW and how it offers all those things as well, this aint QW and I never said it didn't so don't waste your time.

yeah it does of course yet most people forget that.

It's usually 'if it aint got air control its really easy' or 'if it aint got double jumping and boost jumps it's really easy.'

If you really dumb it down, I think you can say something like 'air control makes it harder to hit the opponent, while no air control makes it harder to dodge'

haha, well in your case having haste will might bring you up to 2ez instead of 5ez

Agreed, my dodging would benefit from haste as I actually MOVE during games.

The things you mention apply to pretty much all FPS games.

Basic VQ3 movement is a lot easier/quicker to learn than basic CPMA/PK/Q4 movement IMO. So does that make me a moron?

Dated, but more fun than Q4 demos
