He didnt seem that down about it and despite singing New York New York to me and wheat in an interview on Saturday, sunday didnt work out so well for the quote machine.
I did not really like the shoutcasting of the finals between Soc-ra-tes and Cooller. To much talking about things outside of the match and it was hard to follow the scores. But overall it was quite decent :)
Thats mainly due to the boring nature of the match and that is an indication of how dominant socrates_ played. Also, its very different to commentating without a picture being seen by you guys at home. There is little point in me shouting out where he is what he is doing and what he is picking up when you can see it for yourself, so we do modify our commentary accordingly.
Ive said it before and I'll say it again, a shoutcast is only as good as the match you cast and I will never try and dress up a bad game as a good one by getting excited falsly, it just doesnt work.
I don't know if you did this (I only saw ic vs D|S on q4dm2tmp ;/) but you should have two screens one with the active player (On stream) and one with the other that way you can be more descriptive about the non-active player but also commentate like you would usually (Obviously not practical past LAN's).
Yep, thats what we have. Each of the casters has a different view, one of which doesnt go out, but sometimes its very confusing for the viewer to follow the action if we commentate on the one you cant see.
It would be like a football match that you watch the action in the goal mouth at one end, whilst the commentater shouts about what the defenders and goalkeepers are doing out of picture.
