My question is why was this map even played? 3 maps played with the same player winning each one, unless this was just a for fun scrim after?

this was the wb final ,where neok won blip and galang while d1ablo won fleet.

yeah that would make total sense if only d1ablo actually did win fleet, unless the demo ESR posted is wrong and the ESWC Germany website is also wrong, then neok won all 3 maps even though fleet/blip was all he needed

This map is from the winner bracket final where neok first won blip ,then d1ablo won fleet and neok managed to win galang.
Now D1ablo battled through the lower bracket to play neok again in the overall final ,where neok won both blip and fleet.

OH ok, now i get it, thanks for clearing that up for me, now that i look back and re-read I didn't reliaze that Fleet was the only demo actually from the overall final and blip/galang are just from winner bracket

It's a bit funny how d1ablo considered himself the best Quaker in Germany when the guys from unmatched quit, and now, as soon as one of them and to that Neok, who is probably less of a 1v1 player than the others, plays q4, order is restored. It's good to see a german quaker back who does not stand for flaming and generally lame behavior, but has some class like in the old times.

Im not really so much into quake, but people who talk about how good they are, are usually not. tho reaching a final is a nice achievement

ive never said "im best quaker in germany", i have only once answered with "i think yes" in 2003 on a question "do you think you are _actually_ best quake3 player in germany" in an interview after i won german cup with all active top german q3ler in it.

and i cannot consider myself as best in q4 since i have not won a single q4 tournament in germany

Also i can remember neok playing a fairly close match against lakerman at cpl cologne or sth, so I gues he had his fair share of duel.

I don't see why this is a "hate" post. I would even agree that d1ablo was the best of a number of, internationally measured, average duellers that were left when all the good players quit in 2002. However, the german duelling scene did not only lose in skill, but a bit of its level as well.
It's good to see Neok back in the scene; he brings back some class, skill, and certainly no lame flaming.

Your post was written in a way that people might think d1ablo was bragging and claiming to be the best as soon as the good guys quit, and now that one of those oldschool players returns he gets stamped immediately. We had hundreds of such posts on PQ.de already years ago, when everyone was just whining about d1ablo's success. That's why I'd call it a hate post.
