I dont think so, they need the tourneys for their train. Playin your trainpartner over and over again is not the way.

The players who are good enough to worry about their demos being released play among themselves at bootcamps and on private servers with no specs.

You don't really believe these online tourneys are the only time a good bunch of players get together do you:)

i watched forever play CHROME*trito earlier on CAMPGROUNDS 1V1, there was me and another spec, btw he fukin owns, it was lostfleet btw

Well ofc there are still non big names players who dont do that, but if I had to pick the top 20 q4 duellers atm, I would bet all of them either bootcamp fairly often with other top players, or ping LAN pings and play under lan conditions.

I'm not talking about the grunts or runts. I'm talking about real contendors who might have something to lose by uploading demos because they are at the top of their game and every little edge counts.
That's not true for me or most otehr players becasue we have flaws in our game which need to be improved upon that are down to bad play and nothing else.

If they don't want to play in the tournaments because they force demos that is their loss let other players with balls who don't get a chance to go to the big LAN events (e.g. av3k)

ofc i believe that - there are still players in europe, who don't play for aAa, fnatic or sk and get payed a bootcamp trip whenever the time comes to prepair themselves. I think it's still a minority who practise only on bootcamps, the rest have to play in those tourneys, because different skilled players attend there.

Forever isn't really interesting to watch anyhow.

I remember forever and thedutchone watching loads of q3ctf demos, analyzing them and even discussing it. I guess forever learns a lot from watching demos, so the fear that his opponents will learn a lot from his demos make sense.
