MVD's are cool and all, but they don't really seem to help. It's like they give too much information. The brain is limited. It can only process so much sensory input. Someone (other than me), should study psychology and neurophysiology and use them for 'spectator stuff'.

The next generation of children are more capable of multitasking and can watch more than one view point at once, this is why we added MVDs.

Also, there can be an oblivion fan wanting to watch this, who wants to watch oblivions pov rather than rats, kinda retarded needing two files for one game imo.

i think this is more-so the point of an MVD rather than ix-ir's, sure it's possible to watch two POVs at once, but i don't enjoy it as much as studying one only, hence why i have the little MVD box off :D

i find it really distracting and annoying to try and watch two POVs at once, especially when something exciting happened in the opposite POV of the one you were paying most attention to. and don't say it's possible to pay an equal amount of attention to both...because it just isn't possible. you either put full effort into one thing at one time, or split your attention between the two staggered!

yea i completely agree with you. it's much better to upload 2 separate demos with different povs as there's a lot less information and sensory input to be processed that way. i guess we see eye to eye since i will be studying psychology and neurophysiology in my next life.

There are plenty and plenty of muslims as well, not all indians are hindu. There are also many followers of of Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism. It's a very big country, with hundreds if not thousands of languages and cultures, united under the Republic of India. Go visit it sometime :D

The MVD thing could be used for educational purposes. For example, to make a strafe jumping tutorial: Use the small screen to show a 'video'/demo (presumably of some sort of strafe jumping), while at the same time, use an audio file to explain what you're watching and display text on the main screen (which mirrors the audio file).

You could also use the MVD small screen thing for GTV ads. All you have to do is let people 'mod' ads into the game, which come in the form of 'demos' to be displayed in the MVD thing. Imagine, keel and sarge (both with pm skins), talking about what brand of pizza they like.

Wasn't there like a stand-alone version of q3? It's small and compact? Easy and quick to download and install? And free too? Why not take it, add cpma, and then use GTV ads to generate revenue? If you made a GTV ads mod-kit, marketers could easily create their own custom ads. And you could do the educational 'demos' thing to make it more newbie-friendly. Since q3 is already hardware friendly, if you could find a way to seperate the level 60's from the level 1's, the friendliness would be complete.

Think about it... you could make it free, quick and easy to download, install, watch and play. And the ads would be more entertaining than a nuisance. Especially if you only activated them during timeouts, or in between games.

With this form of GTV ads, you could circumvent the entire pro-system currently in use. You wouldn't need the CPL or any other organization to 'choose' your game. You could make your own game a pro-success. You could even run the pro-leagues and tournaments through some gimp webpage you threw together in two seconds. These 'pro' organizations are completely unnecessary.

You could even include the webpage in the game itself. Like, in the menu, next to options, exit, play, etc., you could have 'website' (although named something better). Inside the webpage section, you would find all the normal community stuff, like: news, demos, GTV info, game-related files to download, and even leagues and ladders. You could include anything already in use from the internet, and come up with new ideas specifically designed for this purpose.

This is a fucking great idea. I'm on a fucking roll lately. Doing it like this would be so much better than the way it's done now.
