well i never played cooller but from everything i've heard is that he's more of a strategical player than a pure aimer. unfortunately, EVERY SINGLE q4 map in rotation right now is much much much more dependent on aim than strategy, considering all the maps are small boxes. perhaps he can't dominate like he could in quake3 because of the maps.
You can't "adapt" to a physical trait someone else has over you idiot. I guess you think the guy who wins the 100m at the olympics is the smartest of the runners... zzzzzzzzzz
i adressed your last comment, perhaps you are too incompetent to see how? cooller can beat toxic on galang because he anticipates (adapts - if that draws any parallels to any comments on this page) toxic's style (good use of hitscan weapons) and counters it. having good aim isnt due to any physical advantages, it is acquired through experience (did czm aim as well as he did in 2000 compared to last years ESWC?). olympic games dont require strategy, i bet the best 100m sprinter would be pretty shit at soccer. basically, saying that someone with good aim has some sort of "external-unfair-advantage" is about as fair as saying a good strategist has the same thing.
i think you are the fido here. people can't always blame maps, a good player will adapt. running is all about genetics, not really brains, so you must compare apples with apples. good aim in q4 can be about just being an insane aimer, but smarter players will still have the edge by using postional advantage etc. brains can defintely overcome aim, of course this means you must still have pretty good aim yourself, but then again cooller has awesome aim. no matter how good your aim is, if the other guy controls the map better, and doesnt give you a chance to rail him etc, you can't do much. assuming he doesnt have shit aim.
but just the raw aim is one single ability such as making strategic decisions, timing, etc.
And all they are saying is that on the current maps, players benefit a lot more from aim than from the other abilities. And although all factors combined make up the strength of the player you will never, ever be able to improve your aim by timing the RA to the millisecond.
the way I see it that is not aim but how you use your ability to aim.
e.g. some people get that flick rail while strafejumping, while should better stand still and my target as well ;)
so, if you mean to say aim = accuracy at the end of the match, then I agree.
but the way I see it, ,someone's aim is better if he hits more with both in the exact same position.
I never said timing the RA to milisecond will improve your aim.
What I did actually say that was by playing cleverly, and taking note of positional advantages in game, aswell as picking battles wisely, and generally moving in such a way to avoid being railed, a player with brains can easily overcome someone who purely relies on aim.
Positional advantage plays a huge role in aim, and using position to your advantage will most defintely improve your aim.
Timing RA and keeping control perfectly, will also ensure that even if your aim isnt as good as the other guys, you will have more armour and health to survive a battle.
Like I said its easy to sit back and blame maps, but its the truly great players that adapt despite "shit maps".
Besides, imo, Sombra played very cleverly, he used aim in the right situations, avoided battles he thought he might lose, and overall played a very smart game. Thats why he won.
i have to agree that the maps are just small boxes...every one of them is open everywhere so that a player with good and can simply outshoot you thru all the little cracks everywhere
It was a good match, but to be fair too cooller he had almost double the ping from what I saw briefly on the scoreboard (44ms vs 76ms). It would be interesting if cooller moved and had better internet to central europe, but he loves russian girls too much.. kruto =)
This f'ck ing "confetta" girl has stolen his madskillz ;-)
