Well... That depends on how you see it. NO game-movie is as bad as the one Uwe's done... They're total crap.

Dungeon Siege has a nice storyline, but Uwe just doesn't care.

Alone in the Dark had great potential. But read the somethingawful article :p

I agree Alone in the Dark could have been an awesome movie (And clearly this guy is a moron) but I still don't think any of those games have good movie plots.

For example for Alone in the Dark to work it needed it's own plot set in the AitD world. He kept the name and general theme of a detective dude I suppose (Just about!).

I think a game which has a plot that could be made into a game is actually Diablo 2! Loads of action and a general, decent and not over cliched story. Or maybe System Shock 2 for the sci-fi horror stuff.

Yeah that's why I wrote that 'in theory'. But the plot and action is all there for the taking (into the right hands I hope ;)). Actually I'm surprised noone made a movie adaptation of this game yet. Instead we see poor films based on poor (in terms of plot) games :/ Hate all that shit coming from Hollywood 'recently'.

Diablo 2-movie would rock... But a TV-series would be evern better. Then you can make a more complete story and background info to the characters. I would've wanted a kind of "2-group-story" with all the different classes ingame, facing bosses etc... Man that would be cool...

So who would play wich class?

Barbarian = Vin Diesel
Amazon = Jennifer Garner
Druid = Viggo Mortensen
Paladin = Morgan Freeman
Necromancer = Gary Oldman
Sorceress = Famke Janssen
Assassin = Kate Beckinsale

I would've wanted Arnold for barbarian-role, but that just wouldn't work :)

Most videogame based movies suck imo. Resident Evil for example. I know many people like them but in my eyes it was just another zombie movie. I think it's because the movie makers have no connection to that games. It's easy money. You buy a name. Make a shitty movie. And the money is rolling.
