from the reviews i've read so far I heard the tanks mesh really well into the gameplay, its not like battlefield were if your infantry vs an armor your fucked, now you actually stand a chance if you can play smart

I am a bit disappointed because of the realistic enviroment and weapons. Hopefully there will be a demo or something to try it.

kinda, he made a "spawn host" out of the dead body for the next one of his team to spawn there.

You can see this pretty good in one of gamespy's vids. First he is implanting something and then it says 'spawn host'.

Anyone know if it's one team defending & 1 attacking like ET? Couldn't tell from that footage.

Also the pre-E3 blerb stated there was objectives to be achieved, that just looks like Battlefield style capture the flag/spawn points.

They talk about objectives and I think they say that GDF are attacking and need to fulfill the objectives. However I didn't read it fully.
Additionally they have 4 little gameplay movies.

I've watched most of the gameplay movies (these & those other 4 smaller) and I'm still not sure...

I realy hope they always have the same team on defense. At least that way they can get away with having assymetrical (unbalanced?) teams.

Look at CTF. Most of the maps/teams are symmetrical because its damn hard to balance out the game if it isnt. Unless either Strogg or Human is always on the defending side, it will be a damn miracle if the game turns out to be balanced enough for multiplayer gameplay.

I'm assuming Humans on offence cause I read they can advance their spawnpoints by using mobile CPs and drop troops with some aircraft. Strogg can use killed Humans as spawnpoints, which to me looks like a realy defensive strategy. Humans advance spawnpoints whereas Strogg try to keep the positions they are in?

Well, just brainstorming. Atm I'm thinking the game will be less worse then the ET community is expecting it to be...

It depends on the map, but they are set per map... so if you're playing Valley for instance, then the Stroggs are always defending and the GDF are always attacking... So if you play stopwatch and switch sides... yes one team is always on one side of the objective.

You guys intend on there being competition play like ET?

But even so, the constant camera changing is pretty irritating. Feels like it has spend more time messing around than following someone. You can't even stop and see what people are doing because the camera will turn somewhere else and show panoramic views of the booth instead of following the action.

Indeed, it is a little annoying when the cam keeps moving about.

Looking superb. I have my doubts about if I will enjoy the flyers in the game, but splashdamage have my trust for gameplay decissions, so I guess they will be ok too. Can't wait, really.

be pessimistic. if you are, you wont be let down when the game flops, but if it IS a success then you've got something to be happy about.
