i mean no disrespect too the other teams but portugal is the best team in europe. was in euro2004 and still is. the reason this game went so out of control was because the referee didnt gave the red card on the fault that caused injury on c.ronaldo before the 10min mark.
portugal has beaten holland 6 times now 3 draws and 1 loss in its history. i just dont understand why they keep puting portugal has the weaker team. btw portugal hasnt lost a match since euro2004 finals.

I don't understand all this criticism over Portugal as I don't understand either why tthe english press were hoping Figo was punished out of the field... Are they afraid? It is not enough to have Costinha and Deco and probably Ronaldo (that holland wiht algerian name should had been red!) out? I hope the game over England ends with 11 against 11 and Portugal wins. We deserve it. After all we had the most difficult opponent (not Equador...) in this stage of the World Cup. And we have some things to settle related to 1966...

Because the intentional headbutt over whatever during the game is just plain disrespect for the game and the referee (grantit he was a bad ref). If he can't keep his attitude in check during a World Cup game then I believe he shouldn't be allowed to play during a World Cup game. It goes beyond just breaking the rule and receiving a card during gameplay. You have to respect the game, the rules, the authority and be able to control yourself to be a world class player. Figo threw all that out the window the second he went for the headbutt during game stoppage.

And this is not because I don't like Portugal, because I believe they were highly underrated going into the World Cup and they're proving it wrong. Deco is one of the most amazing players to watch, period. So, as I said, I believe Figo was just a disgrace for Portugal, for the World Cup and should be punished in some form besides a yellow for his action.

Portugal will beat Englad easily. We did it in Euro 2000, we again did it in Euro 2004 and we will do it again on saturday. Unfortunately, it won't taste as good as those excellent wins in 2000 and 2004: England sucks this time!!
