The Unkind - Cooller demo you linked to is from the showdown between the 2002 wcg champion and the 2003 eswc champion, a best of three that Cooller of course won 2-1 :).
Unkind couldn't defend his wcg title at the eswc because he didn't get a visa, just like Cooller didn't get one for the summer cpl this year, so this was supposed to decide who really was better back then.

hmm if you wanna to say about cooller-unkind, two months before eswc2003 on asusc58 spring tourney cooller was raped by unkind on ztn and had 2 games on dm6 vs unkind in superfinal second was in OT... after that cooller killed all on eswc2003 where he did take some skill what let to him to be better then unkind... imho unkind was more talanted and interesting player then cooller? after wcg2002 he was better then cooller after eswc2003 cooller was better - and who did can to win cooller on ztn after eswc2003...

I see that you are convinced that Unkind was more talented than Cooller and try to enforcen that in every post you make.
The facts are that Cooller kept on playing and won almost every single q3 tournament from 2003 to 2005, while Unkind quit and only won the ESWC 02(in a very convincing style).
Once Unkind came back at ESWC 2004, he didn't impress at all, for whatever reason.

Let's just agree that both were extremely talented and good in 2002, and that there is a huge divergence in terms of success after that. You can't know for sure if Unkind could have reached Cooller's skill and dominance if he'd continued playing.

I think it is interesting to see how similarly Cooller and Unkind play the game by the way, their tactics and approach to play the maps are often identical, and their mosuing style is too; the latter is, btw, a thing of pure beauty, i love those 2 players styles.
Anyway, i think you can see how Cooller and Unkind pushed each other to set the bar of skill in Quake 3 to a new level.

Actually if you watch closely cooller and uNkind play a very different style of game. It's similar to saying czm and zero4 play the same style, they do when looking at things from a far.

uNkind has a very predictive and rocket based game.
cooller has an adapting and killer shaft based game.

This demo is a classic in showing how playing smart on ztn3tourney1 is far superior to hitscan aiming.




As for the uNkind - Cooller argument. I would say uNkind was the more talented player (Something cooller himself has said several times) however it would seem somewhere between winning WCG and ESWC 2004 he lost his motivation to play the game.

hmm unkind didnt play so much like cooller in 2003-2004...
after wcg2002 in rus unkind won all... after that he said stupid speach - i did want to see how i can to play without many hours training - and he stoped to play regulary... result he lose his form and game sence... and cooller did go out from rus to many lan champs like qlan... unkind in that time not played

you love 2 players style what about noBap he was better... but he lose his chances to go out from rus in 2002 on wcgru when he killed lexer and after that surrendered to his friend unkind (coz noBap was better then unkind) in winners bracket they are wanted to knocout all olders like pele death lexer demon kik pow3r and go to korea together... but unkind lose to death in semifinal on ztn 2-1 (death played like in spain corrida unkind was a bull superior tactic game) and noBap with tears on his eyes coz he must to play vs unkind in losers semifinals go to play vs b100.hammer and lose in OT 7-6(amazing game), before game death did say to hammer about unkind and noBap about their weakness... and noBap who killed quakecon winner lexer knocked out, lexer lose on that champ 2 b100.drakula and polosatiy to b100.kik =)) thx to death's tactics mental...
some drama was in small losers final where unkind played vs Pele[PK] for a third korean place unkind raped pele - pele after that quited q3 he have knockout... before that pele won polos another rus classic mutchup and lose to cooller...
heh before games death and pele say eachother how they can to won new ZADROTS =) like unkind and cooller... death say we cant to win in fight more tactics and control coz their aim is amazing, PELE said wtf I can to win we must have more speed

Honestly ,IMO uNkind was the funniest to watch (awesome play style ) and one of the most talented players EVER!

I'm Russian myself and know from proved recourses ( :-) ) that uNkind after his WCG 02 victory started throwing away his money on alcohol, weed and such things. He continued to play on Russian local champs from time to time, but after all he lost his form. People, don't let money spoil you.
