but they seem such big noobs in these demos. I managed to watch only cpm22 and couldn't beleive the amount of easy jumps and rjs they were missing. Didn't watched any other demo, since totaly unknown players in OSP play much better. It doesn't seem strange to me that griffin is bad at VQ3, but logical.

I called up my friend arQon to see what his thoughts were on this.

well, I didn't necessarily mean he was a good CPM player (as I said I hadn't watched the demos at that point), but I just assumed that he was, judging from the fact that these demos were posted here, and that they were against a known opponent.

now that I've watched the demos, I guess I'd say he's a good player, but I don't pretend to know the first thing about CPM. I'd probably lose 100-0 to apheleon, simply because I wouldn't know how the fuck to play while sustaining that silly movement.

the "silly movement" in CPM originates from 1996, you know.. from that first Quake nobody knows or cares about because they're n00bs?

anyway.. only watched CPM23 and 22.. not the best demos CPM could throw at you (although they were enjoyable, players seemed relaxed), but it's rather silly to judge a game from the perfomance of only 2 players in a couple of demos.

for that matter Vo0 can make any game look exciting :D

I don't really know the first thing about CPM, since the last time I watched it, we were talking about ven0m vs krogoth demos, and since the last time I've played it twice since the original Promode, but I have a hunch that Apheleon is Canadian. it is just a hunch, though.

silas is 57 for 360, ix is at least 50, mew and LuGia must be beyond 60, maybe 65

cfg will only tell you what sens he uses ingame.

what about the OS, the mouse, the mouse drivers, settings in these mouse drivers, other tools like Razer software that let you change sensitivities for each axis, pointer precision enhancements and whatever all the funny things are called?

The config uses in_mouse 1, so Windows sens and accel have 0 affect on it. Also, his rig setup on challenge-tv says he uses a Microsoft mouse, which don't have magic sensitivity changing drivers.

xp accel and pointer speed does impact the sensitivity using in mouse 1.

Why are they running around with the gl instead of rl, lg or rg? Lots of times they get surprised when they run into their opponent, shoots away some grenade thats not even near the target, _then_ switch to rl or something and actully hit what they want.

I had fun playing these games! I kinda play noob b/c i was rusty iv been playing Q4 only and recently CPM VQ3 i dont bother with cpma anymore but i still love the game, i always will ;)

Try ctrl + alt + del and minimize quake3 application, sync stream and switch back. You gotta change your gamma to value xyz and then back to the original for it to be restored. I use binds for that.
