Maybe we should just have a little symbol next to peoples names that means either "I like Q4" or "I dislike Q4" ... that way ESR would be free of all the witty comments.
let's not forget they play this in sweden huh... that's kinda like ping 2 or something ;) So if you'd compare any shaft to swe shaft.. theirs is great.
But still fox is impressive as ever.
True but if I watch a game I know was done on the i-net I expect a 'bad' lg... so anything that > bad lg would mean that on lan his shaft would be even better, but swe games often don't work like that ;)
I didn't say that =). fox wasn't really active on the previous big events and a lot of people base their opinion on those results. Tbh I'd rather have that one of the youngsters (avek & cypher) have a shot.
even my mind is playing tricks with me. I honestly thought he missed more then 1 event, but that's clearly not the case. It's just that I wasn't that impressed with his performance, in q3 he was top3 on nearly every tournament he competed in.
... which doesn't mean ofcourse that he shouldn't be picked for wcg

Why does it need some random .pk4, does the demo playback expect that you have _all_ the maps from the server, or something to that extent?

I seriously think we can start acknowledging Fox as the best q3 tdm player ever. He's played and truly excelled against better resistance, and during a time when the q3 tdm scene was as big and good as it ever was.
No we can't, since the US Q3 TDM scene died way before fox got fame, and czm used to be an ace teammate to fatal1ty when cK rocked.
Czm also won one of the biggest 5v5 CTF tourney ever with cloud9 who were more used to 4v4, and his genius and skills were certainly part in this.
Oh and of course, czm was the best 1on1 player out there, fuck that missed rocket jump.
I think he won two, but I'm not sure, and I'm not going to challenge you on the matter :) I'm simply expressing a feeling that fox is a) a better player - aimwise and tactics wise, b) he has played against, and been successful, versus harder opponents.
Don't get me wrong, in my book both SteLam and ProZaC are legends so I'm not out to trash talk them or anything, I just think fox is a better q3 player taken all things into consideration.
fox shows some amazing skills. I loved to watch his q3 games, as well, but it just seems he has even more room to excel his own style in quake4, if the map is not phrantic ;-)
would love to see him play placebo, man called sun and monsoon against some serious competition (wakka is not nearly as bad as the scores might make one think, though)
With the 1.3 patch, you can get to the MH from the upper area with only a circle-jump. And, of course, you can also go from the MH to the upper area with a circle-jump.
