this is just so messy. ok, this isn't "the CPL" either, but it's messy, nonetheless.
both of these guys pretending like they're god's gift to "professional gaming" - carnage constantly whining, as usual, and walter pausing during the freaking match to read text/type or whatever it is he's doing (getting killed in the process).

sure, I can understand why both of them do it; carnage seems to get frustrated at the game easily, and so do I, but that's exactly why it's not professional -- because it _is_ professional to not do these things (not to mention the spectator chat, CPM bugs, server mis-configuration, and all the other stuff going on).

finally, before I get more whine from walter or anyone else: ALMOST EVERYONE HATES SPECTATOR CHAT DURING GAMES. no one (turn of phrase; not literal) ever liked GTV demos.
that is what my last criticism was about.
everyone was thinking what I said at one point; it is, however, so that I'm, apparently, the _only_ one with the balls to say whatever the hell it is I feel like saying, so if you have a problem with that then great.

this criticism is much the same, and it's pretty valid.
it definitely detracts from the game's enjoyability--what little this particular game had, in the first place.

I honestly just wish socrates and czm were still playing, or that cl0ck was playing up to his usual abilities, so that people without egos (or atleast undeserved egos) would be representing the game. that's just my opinion, though, and I'm not discrediting anyone's abilities, here.

that's what I'm talking about. I'm not an idiot. I've seen you do it before, though, and it just seems unprofessional, like you're nervous/antsy or something.

As far as Carnage 'constantly' whining, he only spoke when the match itself was outside of his grasp. He did not bicker during the game when it was still competitive. While being upset (which is natural), he handled the situation rather well. (Others can say different, but I was the person playing him and took no offense whatsoever.)

I didn't take any offense. I just think it's annoying and unprofessional, again.

I don't think neither Dan nor I were trying to pretend to be god's gift to Q3. Personally I think you are over analyzing things just to look for things to bitch about. While I hold nothing against you, every post from you so far has been extremely negative. This makes me look at YOU as a whiner. Perhaps I am misled just because you feel the need to point each and every flaw in the demos I post.

what? I'm looking for things to bitch about? if you've ever looked at the world, you'd realize there are a lot of things not to like. the difference between myself and others is that I talk about them.
I think I can be as negative as I want, and I don't see any use in commenting on how I feel about something positively - I'm not a puppet - unless I have anything insightful or groundbreaking to contribute.

sorry, I don't go around posting "wow great game!" or "I agree" everywhere, as you can probably see how completely USELESS posts like those are.

I don't see how you can call me a whiner. we're talking about a video game tournament versus the commenting on a forum which was designed for commenting.
they're not even close to the same thing.

it really has little to do with you, and more to do with the fact that you are one of the few people who happen to have recent Quake III demos posted on this website -- the only game for which I feel like watching demos (Quake IV is a pile of shit which won't even work properly).

*shrug* Why not state what you enjoyed about the demos? Certainly you do not deem it all a waste of time. :)

see above. maybe I didn't enjoy anything about the demos, too, or maybe the things that I didn't enjoy distracted me from enjoying anything else. I think that's beside the point.

Furthermore, I must say I actually do enjoy spec chat from time to time. I might be the only one though. At times it can be quite funny.

We the spectators thought that spectator muting was on. When it wasnt walter corrected it so fast I thought one of the refs did it.
Other than not having Gtv for the specs to hang in and what not. I thought it was well played by both walter and carnage. It was walts night and Dan will have his chance yet once again.
Funny thing I dont remember the spectators complaining a tenth this much.

I could most likely have provided GTV if I had known about this tournament a week ago, but oh well.

Yes, I ask for forgiveness on the matter of the slip up of the chat. As gorilla said we all thought it was on, I could have sworn it was fixed right before the match just like it was on the ztn game but hey one mess up. :(
Besides that, great games guys it was worth my money to come down and see it. It's gonna be awesome playing you at cpl Dan, cya there :P
