Yay black coloured Saturn in the west - winner of ugliest looking console ever award. No wonder no one bought it. Disgusting brick. At least that Japanese white Saturn looked pretty nice.

Anyway I still play my Saturn - mainly NiGHTS and Deathtank sometimes Guardian Heroes! The analogue pad is broken so I'm never gonna beat any of my old scores with a standard pad but it's still fun nonetheless.

there are plenty of uglier consoles.

Master Syetem, Master System 2, NES 2, SNES 2 all look pretty horrible.

really, the Saturn is just a vamped up Genesis/Mega Drive, so I don't see how you can call one ugly without the other.
PS2 and XBOX are pretty fugly, too, even PS2 Slim.

OKOK, maybe not the ugliest console ever, but certainly a candidate.

What do I have against it? Nothing really, it's a good piece of kit with some amazing games and it has provided me with countless hours of entertainment. The only gripe is like I said before, it looks shit. The earlier (MK-80200-50 in Euro) model with the oval buttons looks better than the later model, but they still both look like ugly black boring boxes.

The controller however is probably the best console controller ever. imo.

The XBox wins the ugliest console award, the 460 is pretty nice though. By far the ugliest console ever was the Jaguar, not really because of the console but more because of the ubersized pad.

i have a jaguar sitting next to me, too, and it looks pretty darn nice. the controllers are a bit weird, but not unsightly.
what is wrong with you guys?

I have't watched it yet, but the tittle (Sanshiro Sugata) just fuckin' rocks! It's the tittle of the first (?) movie by my all time favorite director..... AKIRAAAA KURO...SAWA..!!!!!

The Saturn was awesome, especially since it did so badly in the UK eventually I was able to buy one and all the games I wanted for literally next to nothing. Nights, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Burning rangers, Shining Force 3 etc. Thanks for making such a difficult system to program for/port to Sega, I really appreciated it! :D

not to mention that

a) it has lots of RPGs.
b) you can play burned games on it.
c) it has other cool games, still (Virtua Fighter, Clockwork Knight, D, Gex, Mega Man, Resident Evil, Sonic, Street Fighter, Need for Speed, Tomb Raider, Toshinden, and something else I'm forgetting)

I bought one around the time it and playstation had just arrived, because all the stores had sold out playstation. I watched playstation getting all the gems while saturn getting only crap, I still have it though. Worst console ever.

the saturn had plenty of good games, and alot were exclusive

radiant silvergun, nights into dreams, burning rangers, virtual on, panzer dragoon saga, virtua fighter, daytona, sega rally, guardian heros, shining force 3, saturn bomber man to name a few.
it also had no end of 2d beat em ups which played better on the saturn than the psx, and tonnes of shoot em ups also.

on top of that all of segas arcade releases
granted, at the start the psx had the lead with the quality of games, but worst console ever? cmon
