He was a "legend" in qw, winning with clan 9 over just about everybody they got a chance to beat (400 matches without a loss according to an interview they did on swedish television). Among those, beating deathrow (thresh, unholy etc) with like 8-2 in rounds afaik. Also winning swedish championship tournament twice in a row (FFA though :p). In q3 they also, Although they left rather quickly, they did afaik not lose a tournament either?
It might sound like I'm exaggerating a bit, but I would react the same way If I saw some swedish guy joining tournaments as "cooller", or "zero4". Its lame in my oppinion. And I still wonder why people would try to duplicate someone else name wise.
I don't get it either. Lack of imagination or is it just a sign of retardation? Even if it's just a nickname, it's both stupid and lame to use almost "legendary" players nicks. It doesn't matter if they're active or not.
Well this guy is only 16 according to his profile, so there might be a slight chance (if he took it from the game, which i believe the original one did, he would then have to be like 4 or 5 years old when he played doom?) but to be honest I doubt that =) (besides i've pointed it out to him way before. Now, about the other guys, like those who calls them selves makaveli and immortal, afaik knew eachother? Which if they did would be kind of obvious they took their names from the american quakers.
Belive me mate i didn't heard anything about All*DOOMer before I became d00mer. My nickname have small litters, double zero. Nick came form my real name - Dominik. Anyway when I started using it (few years ago) I didn't know what is RailGun or Quake, so it's not came from legendary swedish player!
