almost everyone supports pcs over consoles? been able to play two or more players on consoles since early 80's. Thats almost 30 years ago and there are actually a select few dumb fucks who thinks that somehow this or the next few years console multiplay will "kick off" when the only real change theyve gone through is that nowadays they cost almost as much as a pc lol.

TBH the only real differene between a console and a pc in an OS.
If you installed windows on an (elite) X-box 360 it would be no different to shuttle pc.

I was referring to a mainstream OS like Windows or Linux.
I.E. an environment outside of the software on a disk where you can do lot's of other things.

I think both consoles and pc's have operating systems.
They just work in a different way.

He was saying that a PC has an OS that is far more complex/superior I believe.

Anything that could be considered a computer has an OS (hell, routers have an OS). PC's have what I'd call a diverse OS.

PS3 has yellowdog linux. Anyway, pc's have a LOAD of awesome games coming, near 100 in number, that all look amazing. The best one though is Crysis. This game is 10000x better looking than S.T.A.L.K.E.R and has true destructable environments. There was even a trailer of a NUKE happening in the game and the outcome was so very real.
Also, Crysis is unable to port to ps3 or x360, because it is THAT advanced. Only the crytek engine will be able on consoles, and that engine totally dominates UE3 in terms of power and simplicity.

Crytek have a serious problem on their hands IMO.

I cant help feel, but not impressed. I don't know, i rather play tower defense in flash, seems more fun.

that is true but many people liked what they did with Far Cry's gameplay so there's hope. I personally got bored with Far Cry halfway through but then im not much of a single player fps kinda guy.

Firstly the game does not have "true" background damage or anything of the sort.
It has a "props" such as trees and buildings which can be smashed.
Something which has been in games for years.

Secondly of course the game can be converted to the PS3.
Granted it would not look as good as the pc one but you could get it to look pretty close with a good dev team behind it.

And with the destructable environments, it all depends WHERE you shoot. Anything you shoot at will be damaged, leaving the rest fully intact. You can shoot out then engine of a car and have it fall out, or if you shoot the gas tank, it will explode, only if you hit it and create a spark.

Yeah, I think the only consoles with any DirectX support are the XBOX's.

Direct X 10 is not relevant. Effects can be simulated or left out.
It could be still be converted for the ps3 and Xbox 360, just as farcry instincts was converted by Ubisoft Canada for X-box 1.
I agree it would not look as good as it running on a top of the range Pc with 8800 but I still say it could look great. Good enough.

Jeeps/trees/gas tanks whatever. Nothing new.

The actual environment cannot be damaged. So you can't fire a rocket at the floor and take a big chunk out of it ala Red Faction.

Problem with PCs is the hardware maintenance. It brings both high costs as well as irritation. The big populus doesn't want the hassle so they go for a console, which is actually hardware/price-wise very effective.
