They are linked. CFC's are greenhouse gases and they are what was causing the ozone layer depletion. To what scale of an effect they have is a totally different argument of course.

You may want to take a look at the documentary called the 'The great global warming swindle'.

As long as you take that with a pinch of salt, remeber these sienctists also have a bias themselves. The truth is likely to be somewhere in the middle (But leaning towards the swindle side)

What I liked about Al Gore is he really only spent a small amount of time on the causes to be honest, and had more focus on the effects and damaging the environment in general.

And what I liked about the swindle program is how it showed how over the top and stupid most of the "envrionment" protesters are and how science is just as money driven as everything else.

I hate the way enviromentalism is being presented like the new fad and marketed accordingly: "OMG buy our recycled environment friendly [anything] even though the production was uneconomical as fuck and consumed more resources than the regular one would" The worst part is the propaganda that tries to make people who point out the obvious look stupid.

Not as stupid as finding out something is LESS TRUE than you thought before and as a result jumping immediatly to the conclusion that it is completely false. Nobody is denying that there are ulterior motives behind the workings of politicians in any field or that professional enviromentalists have their own interests at heart, to imply that global warming and the ozone layer aren't serious issues which deserve public awareness and integration into future planning though is just plain ignorant.

Jumping to the opposite point of view often isn't progressive at all, it's just applying the same kind of stupid mentality to a different set of facts.

I never said that, I agree these are serious problems but they should not be used as an excuse to limit individual rights (see terrorism). Why choke the economy by forcing limits? There are better ways to spend the resources, all the way from fusion research to public transportation development.

The film maker is pretty much a douche bag. But there were some valid points in the documentary. Like the Sun's influence obviously can't be overlooked, but it rarely gets a mention.

I feel without a doubt we are part of the cause and at this present time we are the accelerant. But there are other areas, which unfortunately are uncontrollable like the Sun which is also likely to be contributing to climate change.

The way I see it is the sun is the driving force and we are just making it have a bigger impact than it would have normally (Like a car going down a road, car = sun us = the roads angle and at the moment we're tipping it down)

There is a guy in SE England who rides a bike that powers a portion of his home (rest is solar), he doesn't use as much as your average house would (because he lives in the forest) but who is to say that we can't scale back how much energy we use.
