too bad the demos are bugged for me only allowing 60fps and a few other bugs but they're still watchable usually.

wow, av3k's movement is class. His speed around the maps is phenomenal. Great shafting at times too.

what the heck do i do to play this demo?
I have 1.4.1 and 0.78a. I have all the maps and I sure didn't have problems with q4tv. Now, when I try to load the demo with q4replay or manually, the game reports that there's no such map.

check your console (after the aborted demo) and get the missing pak4's. Btw. try demo_enforceFS "1" or "2"

1) According to q4replay, I am not missing any packs.
2) I checked the console. The missing pack is the map itself, yet I have those maps in both q4base and q4max.
3) I opened the demo in a hex editor. The only packs with inconsistencies are q4max files, which are listed to be in "C:\Program Files\Id Software\Quake 4\q4max". I have my game installed in "D:\Games\Quake4". Could this be the problem?
4) I considered that my map versions are outdated. But also, these were the same as the latest I could find through Google search. Besides, q4tv was working perfectly during the tournament.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Never put maps in your q4max directory -- it's redundant and, if anything, could be the source of your problem. Always put maps in your q4base directory and ONLY q4base.

Also, judging by #3 on your list, it sounds like either you have Q4 installed on two drives or your registry is messed.

And, lastly, that's probably the weirdest hostmask I've ever seen on ESR :S
