Something new, I do think it's interesting they have the WSVG watermark in the demos. Nifty.

Its not actually new - ESWC used this q4max feature a while back, although I've not noticed it recently.

It requires setup from us, so any tourneys who'd like to use it should contact me / hemo about it, and we'll hook you up with the instructions. We've already got logos setup for most tourneys (there is even a CPL logo there still :| )

is there a way to remove this watermark ? (don't want it on the stage6 video I would encode ; I mention the event in the name of the vid, it's useless to have it watermarked. plus being at the perfect spot for hud_showSpecTimers. bad feature imo, I don't get the advantage of it)

btw doesn't hud_showSpecTimers work in demo playback ? or is it this watermark which fuck up its display ?

specTimers doesnt work for non-spectators - and that includes a demo from a playerpov.

The watermark can be disabled via some demo-haxing, but I dont plan to describe how on here. People seem to like it, so I say just leave it in the video - maybe with the branding visible release of demos will become more important to the tourneys rather than something organised by the players + shoutcasters.

the watermark needs one thing imo : having two versions in order to be less huge in low resolutions ; it's really too big in 640*480

does anyone know how to use the new stats function for demos?
wanted to add the stats to all the demos, but running demos with "demo_capturestats 1" and "demo_scale 32" didnt work, no stats were generated :(

You might wanna slow down at the end - at demo_scale 32 it might just skip over the bit where it'd save out the stats completely.

It does rely on the players not callvoting a map change before the end of the map - dunno if thats happened in these games.

Hopefully the serverside stats will get published anyway ;)

I genuinely don't see your point, hldm was played by like 500 people competitively, Q3 by probably 5000. What don't you understand about it being easier to be the best in the 500 one?

It seems like Cooller has got too much going on IRL. I've seen recent Q3 demos of his and now he's back at Q4. I'd imagine it's hard keeping up with two separate games and still maintaining your abilities in both.

i'd still consider his potential to be the best higher than anyone else in q3 though. whatever shape he's in, he's got something unique in the way he plays that makes him stand out from the rest. the only other person i've seen like that so far is rat in cpm.

agree, but what he dont have right now is skill. and thats keeping him losing to players like garpy (not that i want to take anything from him). i think he needs to play more. unfortunately thats not likely to happen.
