The intro on the news was my short opinion on the movie... it felt kinda like a rough movie because of the music (good thing), much a like to malignancy.. a good watch, everyone should download it... it's no finnish it, but it's something else and imo just as good (prefer this kind of editing above the finnish it editing... though the finnish it footage was better imo because of a more variated usage of guns)

Think you should have had weapons drawn in the hud and used less motion blur. Overall good editing but really not impressed or interested in the content with 90% of the frags being done with a weapon that you can explode by shooting.

if i remember correctly, if the demo is taken with drawgun off then when you play the demo you can't have the weapon visible

It was over a year ago when i started this project and at that time it was impossible to have the weaponshow on. So I made the whole movie without ;)

UT2k4 demos are so fucking UNsmooth, it's stutter galore.

Also you should have used your movie-making tool and some icons to show what weapon is being switchted to etc

RypeLCam has a feature now that enables weapon shown on the screen, but that wasn't around when Electry started making this video (just came 3-5 months ago iirc)

Why is it 800x500 and how can it be 457 MB for 6 min 40 seconds? 70 MB / min? Uh...

Electry is going to the army on monday, he did not have time to really do much about it, that's why the credits was kinda plane, so he just did one encode with a high enough bitrate to ensure good quality, could've been same quality and 50-100mb less but he didn't have time for that.

i repeat. it's poor material. btw i can understand that with only one player is difficult to gather a good amount of impressive frags (impressive, not above average) and with our internet connections it's difficult to play in europe with top players so it simplier to frag some middle skill player in a dm server in italy

Rofl, can't come up with a better explenation. You don't know what I mean lol. If I were a fan boy, then I'd probably want this site to be all about ut, but I never said that. I also never said that all ut movies should get high markes. I was talking about movies getting marks and comments they don't deserve. I also explained the reason for that. UT used to be a big part of this site and today it still tries to keep involved. I also try and keep involved with this site, but the way it's been going lately it's just not a place for UT anymore. It's a great site for Quake, but that's about it. Anyways, please stop trying to look smart and come up with something constructive or stop talking.

Its not entirely true that quake movies get good ratings all of the time, even shaolin movies get bashed here. You just have to make something really really good, if you wanna get high ratings here. But who cares about high ratings when you dislike the site "because it only has quakers" anyway? Lots of quakers voted well for my movies as well, I see your point though. The problem is, that the UT community (at least the movie making part of it) is extremely small AND incapable, that's the problem, NOT that this sites votes low, the movies are just bad. And you and me (both UT lovers) tend to like the movies more then these guys here, because we especially like the game. Doesn't make it a good movie. End'o'discussion

totaly disagree:
1. You about this site like it's own-age. Quake movies here get overated and other gaming movies get stupid comments and votings. I've been active enough in the movie making scene over the past view years to know what's a good movie.
2. I don't care about it beeing Quake or UT, the best movies I know are actually from Q3 (my favos list: http://www.own-age.com/users/favorites.aspx?id=5755). The only thing I do really care about is that this site used to be Quake and UT, now Quake is totally dominating the site.
3. The UT movie makers ain't as bad as you say. We don't have smt as good as Shaolin, but a lot of movie makers who are at the level below that, which still is very good. You might not agree on that, but these guys at least really ain't worse then some of the movie makers that get all these 100 10/10 just because it's a nice Quake frag movie. They are nice frag movies, but that's all. Movie making whise they really ain't special.
4. Your movies come from a time when this whole thing wasn't as bad as it is today. You also had it back then, but now it's just no fun anymore.

And why do you think this site nowadays is mostly Quake? Because the UT scene is almost dead. And most of the guys who actually are playing, are 1: childish retards, or oldskool retards 2: they don't care for movies, and don't even know this site exists 3: one other time: UT community is very small, and they don't know/care for this site, so that's why the ratings are so "unbalanced".
And the movie makers part: true, the UT scene movie makers tend to learn more and more about nice editing and picture quality. Though they all lack personality. The only ones who actually made a movie with personality in UT were zulg (fooze), carmac (xsu/dfp), smiley (disposable heroes and powah2), and somewhat less: zwanz (retaliation), poema (gkcmovie), azazel (revisionistic), and maybe myself with the dsiL ones, and maybe patsui with the whiners movies.
Sempy's last generation, badalhas his movies, subz his movies, all contain good editing and mostly good frags, but i don't know. I don't consider them good movies.
On the other hand, I can name at least 50 good Quake movies which contain character. We just have the bad luck that the good movie makers are all on to quake and not UT

He's going 6 months into the army now, that's why some things in this movie ended up being slightly rushed (like the credits... and encoding of the movie - hence the massive filesize)

Electry shows he is truly the master, one capable of making even the most mediocre and snore-worthy frags look quasi-impressive to the average viewer. Excellent editing, astonishingly mediocre content.

Good movie, although it didn't really blow me away as such. The frags were decent but to me it was over produced. When will SOME of the frag movie producers realise that if the frags are good then the movie will sell itself - you don't need to have an effects laden movie for it to be good.

Worth a watch but not one for the collection.

Wait a month or so and I got mine ready... it'll be all about the frags!! (more fun to do frags than to make silly effects to hide bad footage)
