in city where i live theres usually on weekends a tea bus (everyone calls it jesus bus) where they take drunken teenagers give them free coffee/tea and some biscuits and other yummies and then tries to convert them... i love going to argue with them :) and i also once asked that does that bus use gasoline or diesel, they anwered that neither... it goes with the power of JESUS !

Maybe not a chastity belt (not very practical/hygienic) but there are other devices you can get. My fiance has one, it goes round the base of his xxxxx and just sits there until he gets aroused, then it has teeth that stick in and hurt him so he turns his mind to something else. Not that I'm religious or anything but what I remember from when I went to church our pastor would never use gender specific pronouns when talking about the LORD or GOD because he was sensitive to such issues. But we still would say things like "heavenly father" so of course moderate Christianity makes no sense either.

Actually come to think of it that guy our pastor Gary he was a cool dude. He got ran out of our small town's church though because he supported gay's right to get married and he was outnumbered by republicans in the congregation. He's probably become Atheist now.

in sweden most old people have some sort of belief. the ones in "the young generation" eg. 15-25 mostly believe because thats they way they were raised. i only know of one person who has 'taken their own beliefs' instead of getting their mouths stuffed with it from birth.

Spirituality can be an important part of well being but there no reason this has to involve a relgion. I'm atheist and follow no religion but I sit and meditate each day.

there's some truth in that, but I think most of us haven't really thought about it very hard, and it's kind of silly to be so confident in an opinion that isn't that reasoned. it's a lot like being an agnostic, really. you do start to change your views on all sorts of things as you get older and just hear yourself saying "ahh, well, I hadn't thought of that before."

About the above, more people are addicted to caffeine than any other drug including nicotine.

I do other things that are against the law like filesharing, rolling through stop signs and riding bike on sidewalks. (yeah I'm hardcore) I don't think those are wrong. I made up my own decisions about what I will do or not do and to avoid drugs.

My parents didn't tell me to, in fact my mom has been hopelessly addicted to coffee and diet coke for over 20 years. Sometimes she frequently gets headaches so bad she takes more drugs to relieve the headache pain.

I just decided it would be healthier to reasonably avoid drugs if I can.

1.You build the bodies immune system letting it fight off illness naturally.
2. You can't get a physical addiction to any substances that pose such a risk.
3. I function just as well without caffeine, alcohol, THC or nicotine and don't have to suffer withdrawl.


Now this is just for me, people that want to use drugs for whatever reason, I don't care what they do as long as I don't have to breath their smoke or get ran over by their drunk driving. In fact I think our countries "War on Drugs" is a huge waste: pot should just be made legal. That would keep a ton of people out of jail who aren't criminals but are recreational drug users.

At least you have a reasonable attitude towards people who choose to use rather than the annoying zealot approach, I commend thee.

that's pretty much the position I used to take, but your knowledge of things increases every day, and as long as you use reason instead of conviction to mold your thoughts, then you'll be open to newer evidence.

the funny thing about your post is that you address addictive substances and dismiss them out of hand, which is completely understandable, but what about those substances (like marijuana) that arguably aren't harmful in any way? your argument is that you function better without the drugs. how do you know? there are good arguments to be made for the other side, if you want to debate.

P.S. I personally have never taken any illicit or narcotic drug or illegal drug, and neither I have taken any herbal drugs (marijuana), depressants, or stimulants (with the small exception of caffeine and anti-depressants, both of which I quit a long time ago). I've never taken/ingested any tobacco or nicotine products, or highly addictive substances whatever, to my knowledge. I'm absolutely drug, tobacco, and alcohol free. I will probably remain this way, but my arguments have changed in light of new evidence on the matter. I can see good reasons for doing certain kinds of drugs, and not very man for not doing them, but just not taking the time to do so or wanting to experiment is good enough.
