with inspired graphists they should make something pretty cool of the (unique feature we won't find anywhere else until someone copy id as always :) megatexture tech on the car's tracks maps
it gonna yet again need a powerfull cpu I bet
and I hope they will find better ideas for netcode, cause even if this game could be only SP purposed, this engine will probably be used for a MP game some day

The game looks interesting. Seems to have a new "atmospehre", not the usual WW2/Alien/Zombie sort of shooter like all the games out there at the moment.

no.. Looks like it has humour and the environment could easily support "superweapons" like those in quake. I think it looks pretty good.

Well any competitive multiplayer that could be a success should start by being fun, actionpacked etc. to open it up to a wider audience(imo). Competition mods can always be developed later if the playerbase is big and people enjoy playing.

Honestly its been years since i enjoyed playing any game, like really having fun. I enjoy playing Quake 3 and QW, but as much as i enjoy those as much i get frustrated so many times. Bring back the good times of good gameplay and maybe we will see a great game to suit the needs of competition :)

hm... multiplayer if they are going to perform any should be something fresh, at least it has some potential - imagine fps with different guns that should be gathered, items that should be controlled, fucking hude multi-level race maps with teleporters, accelerators but where you dont walk or run either ... where you move by techno cars with fantastic speed controlling them with your "wasd" performing compex tricks and control your view "from eyes of driver" with your mouse at the same time

Well FPS and Racing, I don't know how I will like that, however I don't really think this is targeted as the next super duper multiplayer hit from id.

prolly more a techdemo of the engine, kinda like how d3 was.

It's not really just fps/racing from what I read on shacknews, it's a totally open ended world where you can go anywhere and do anything. Think Oblivion.

The name itself and the anarchy-A in the logo ....... so late 90s.

U were a +5 Two handed sword if i recall :) Only for Paladins.

Looks fantastic, but then I've always had a thng for anything post-apocalyptic (even liking duffers like Waterworld and The Postman)

Hope the racing portion isn't a straight up racer though. Used to love Battlecars on the Spectrum many moons ago where cars could be upgraded with all manor of armour and weapons (the ability to drop nails, mines and oil slicks was fb) and it was basically a race to the death.

All I'd need then is for someone to take this engine and do a cyber-punk game (neon, we want plenty of neon) such as a Bladerunnerish type shooter and I'd be a VERY happy bunny.

D3 + Q4 + DiRT = RAGE

I dont see a real concept at the moment and I'm asking myself why they cancel "darkness" that survival island shooter and make Rage then after a year of hard work... any Infos about that? And id is not raising the bar for high end graphics anymore... hopefuly story and gameplay will do it better!

Doom2 with a new engine, and/or Quake3 playability with a new engine.

Man, the times me (i was co-pilot, i know wtf) and my mate used to play Doom2 in the dark all night with a flight sim joy stick thing, was amazing. If we heard the hushed laugh of the Arch vile, i would give my mate a dead arm (again, wtf) We used to go down to the 24 hour garage at 4 a.m, i was strafin around corners with pixelated vision looking for big hissing tomatoes to shoot. (you must remember i was very very, very stoned at the time. Happy daze : ))






Years later i got Doom3, meh what a sucker, they saw me coming...... : (
