i was able to play it until i manually updated it with the patches tho.. I'm thinking it was already updated after downloaded from steam so I'm uninstalling it and redownloading it off steam which is taking forever. but if it's not the latest version after its downloaded I have no idea

Why would you think legitimately buying a game would be easier than pirating it? With all the shit they put in these days if I really wanted to buy a game 'cause it was so good I'd probably buy it, not even unwrap it and just pirate the fucker.
