Yeah both cp5 and cp1 had pretty long boring parts.

The boring vq3ctf style *very* tight def style which leads to 0-0 games is starting to be used more and more in cpmctf and sadly it seems it's nearly as effective as in vq3 and just as boring.

Imho the only thing that's preventing boring 0-0 cpmctf matches atm is that the players' aim simply isn't up to par of vq3 (except perhaps Plus).

If two equally skilled cpmctf teams with vq3-level aims faced each other a 0-0 game wouldn't be unlikely :(

I think the aim of top cpm ctf'ers isnt necessarily worse than that of vq3'ers, the cpm movement just makes it alot harder to hit your rails etc. because of opponents bunnying around at high velocity.

if you learn to position yourself properly as def you the movement doesn't make a damn bit of difference when railing.

I'd like to see how a map with battlesuit powerup would fare against said defensive style in cpm ctf.

We actually tried that with ctctf2 (chickenteam) and battlesuit is basically a free cap. Only taking 1/4 damage and being immune to rl splash is godlike in ctf. A guy with a mere 100/0+bs can take 400dmg. If he picks up a single YA he is *literally indestructible* and can rj in and out totally ignoring any enemies.

In short: BS is powerful in tdm, but in ctf it's so overpowered it's ridiculous.

Another hardly used PU is invisibility :) It's actually quite fun but not that great for ctf.

Flight "PU" makes no sense whatsoever in its current form.
