There are two demos in the zip file.

nB.fatal1ty -vS- Temper
fatal1ty as a relatively un-known player owning a lesser skilled player convincingly.
More of a precursor to the dominance he would obtain in the early years of Quake 3.

nB.fatal1ty -vS- stx.wombat
This is a very close game that showcased two different styles of play.
fatal1ty's offensive style -vS- wombat's defensive style. Made for a very exciting game.

You will need Q3test 1.08 [ Download ] 33MB

You can also create one of your own.

Create a new text file & rename it productid.

Open it, copy & paste this:

The contents of this file are copyright 1999 Id Software, and may not be duplicated except during a licensed installation of the full commercial version of Quake 3:Arena

Save it & place the text file in your baseq3 folder.

why isn't this major? this is pretty amazing. I don't know what the other guy is talking about - this isn't very far off from modern Q3 play at ALL. I think this demo clearly details that fatal1ty alone revolutionized the way these Quake FPS games were played. this is completely amazing for its time. how far off was this from the Thresh demos you uploaded? cause.. fatal1ty would have raped thresh worse than this probably.

I haven't watched the demos, but I remember watching the razor cpl games, fatal1ty WAS really close to modern day standards in that tournament and I believe he went all the way through hardly having any competition, even completely destroying maka in the finals by over 20 frags. What he developed just required practise after that :)

Fat didn't beat makaveli by 20 on either map. The dm6 score was 20-3 and dm13 was like 13-0.

oh ok. that's what I was thinking. I was more impressed by the first demo because it seemed to be before any major tournaments, but I guess he was just preparing for frag3.

That is really not worth watching. Felt like a decent guy (for the time being) playing wombat on T2, got down by a few frags and stopped caring.

lol nice 1! couple of audio interviews in there somewhere, hakeem who won, talks about how he didnt play exceptionally in any games really, just won it with his shaft aim! fatality talks about how he didnt run at the end of his game vs wombat and lost. And that he will run away next time ;)

fatal1ty's offensive style -vS- wombat's defensive style?

in the game vs temper, fatal1ty is super offensive, yes

but..

Vs wombat this intriguied me, so I decided to watch.. What do you know? Both players wombat and fat played the same style: camp/run until you can stack up to 100/200 (max on map) and then attack. No offense from fatal1ty at all really.

The only real offense was shown by wombat, when he is down and time is running out quickly, so he has no choice really.
