oh please, yes he does hit a lot of stuff, but I don't get how you can call his aim "inhuman".. and the same goes for "effortless" - you gotta take his opponent into account here too right ? (no offence brutal)
agree. I've played VQ3/OSP/CPMA since 1999, and only a few months ago did I play my first 'real' CPM game. I've been playing it very casually with a friend, here and there, since that time.
There is an inherent coolness in VQ3 movement. Being able to smoothly move around the map, brushing past sharp corners while maintaining 650ups is pretty cool, to me. I can almost run around ztn3tourney1 blindfolded, maintaining 600ups all the while, and getting up to 750 or even 800.
But once you get used to CPM, it's just annoying when you go back to play VQ3 and have to stop and turn, and it feels SLUGGISH, too. The overall game feels sluggish -- not just the movement, but from everything to spawn times (WHY DOES IT TAKE 1-2 seconds to respawn?) to weapon changes. There are some things I do not like about CPM, though. Air control can be really annoying off of jump pads; there's an innate tendency to look back and FIGHT when you're being chased, but, if you want to get away, you need to learn to just keep running, and that's something that can hurt you sometimes: this whole chase situation could be stopped with the proper placement of a single rocket.
The movement also castrates 'hitscan' weapons a lot of times. It's possible to get somewhat used to it. I'm also not sure about the amount of ammo you get. I think you should probably get more lightning gun cells. Compound the uneffective lightning gun (thanks to the slippery movement) with only fifty cells, and you can't do that muc damage without reloading. The 1-shot rocket kill off spawn shit can be very annoying, too.
There's another tendency to get up and go right after a wounded enemy with machine gun, but all it takes is one rocket from him and, suddenly, your 15-0 lead is 15-10 (especially when it's impossible to machine gun him to death). That is stupid.
The sound is also very strange. It is somewhat tolerable. I have gotten used to it, for the most part. But it just doesn't really make any sense, and is a lot less consistent and practical than the sound in VQ3, I think.
I think maybe you're using the LG in the wrong manner, the LG in CPM is more of a in-between other weapons gun, seeing as it has no reload, it's often a good way to soften somebodys speed or health before finishing them off with a rail, shotgun or rocket, the infamous LG->RG combo on a guy right off the spawn for example comes very much in handy. Don't rely on the LG alone to keep you alive, use a long reload gun like the rail after shafting a bit and be ready to back off and reload, or move in closer with the rocket if he can't get to you, you'll usually be taking some damage if you remain at the same distance too long. It's less standoffish than vq3, distances between players can go back and forth alot, and the perfect weapon choices as well.
Well said. Btw my last post song=score!
Maybe you are a good player noctis but I don't see these sorts of scores or any demos posted of you vs. somoene who people know and whom have some nice skill. In q4 you were only good at torment and whinned on every other map :(
I have the impression noctis and the other 4 random miel members (plus maybe some swedes) are the last decent players still playing tournaments, so think they are on top with cooller's level or something. I just say don't consider yourself good at Q3 now, prove it at big lans with the best at QZ or just gtfo.
