I use the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. Its very cheap & it rocks!! Forget all other mice!

if you move your mouse fast, the cursor doesn't move as far as it would have if you moved the mouse slowly

When I perform a flickshot 90 degrees to the right, for example, shooting a rocket in a hallway, and I move back the mouse to the original position I tend to look to the right :)

The sensor of that wasnt exactly up to par so the mouse would go crazy if you did flicks

The one you gave me is another model this is: ms wheelmouse optical 1.1a, you gave me intelli mouse optical 1.1a but they probably have the same sensor.

You probably still have other drivers which work at 800dpi installed?
Because the mouse works @ 400dpi setting it to 800dpi will get you negative accel.

If you wanna get rid of that "negative accel" in q3 Lucky, you prolly gotta tick off "Improve the precision of the cursor"-thingy in your MS drivers. I did it with RTCW:ET and it worked pretty nicely!

note: you gotta raise your sens after ticking it off tho, in fact try to double it (+-) to get your "q3 feeling"

Never had negative accel on any WMO. And I now have 80 of them running in the game centres!

I was suprised as I was marking the points onto this graph and found that clipping effect where the highest response reading was around 15800 counts per second. You only get Perfect Control up to 1 m/s. If you move the mouse faster than 1 m/s you do continue turning but not at a faster speed. This is a form of negative acceleration, and explains why some players with very low game sensitivities (meaning they move the mouse further and faster) might not like this mouse.

Although I find the term "negative acceleration" questionable, it is a valid concern with this mouse.

If I were a low sens player you might be on to something. However I'm about medium so I don't get anywhere near top speed on the mouse. Sorry about that.

I have tested the razer diamondback and cooperhead both on many a surfaces. I've found that the cooperhead can skip on the old ratpads and several of the steel pad models. All I can say is that I think the mouse is wonderful, and that you should be wanting to replace your mousing surface and not your mouse. I'd buy a Razer eXactMat or an Everglide/Razer Mantis pad. The mouse moves beautifully on them.

I can't play on non-cloth paths, they'll get to moisty :) Especially in the summer..

And because of a disabled wrist (can't tilt my wrist backwards) i need to have a low profile mousemat.

Are you using it at 2000dpi and have you updated the firmware ?
You should set it at 800dpi because 2000dpi skips when you move it fast. I noticed this with impulse's diamondback we tested it both on qpad and steelpad qck+ and it both skipped so its a mouse problem not the pad. Msg imp on irc for his settings.

dude, I have one - but all the problems ended with driver update. prolly there's something with your operating system, cause me and my friend have no problems with using the copperhead, it's the most accurate mouse I have ever tried.

I already upgraded the driver and firmware on Saturday, driver version is now 6.09 en firmware version is 6.17.

But I already upgraded it soon after I received the mouse.
I will play some more on the icemat / fatpad / everglide i still have, see what is the difference.

Lucky - its all down to the firmware. Those problems you experienced all exist in earlier versions of the firmware, but the latest version has fixed most of them. Even with the latest firmware the mouse is by no means perfect, but if you play some LG only duels on LAN, then you will see what it is good for.

People seem to have theirs breaking down left right n centre. I wanted to get one but im reluctant to atm.

The new firmware fixed all of my problems with the mouse... i use a steelpad 5l

ive seen razer mouse skipping on the mTw pad... but it did work fine at all other pads. whatever, the owner of the mouse said its shit and he going to get a new one

I'm waiting for the mx3xx alike mouse with laser from logitech. Because i'm not competing competative anymore, I'll have to do with my Copperhead until then.

Mouses have reached a point where only the chasis design and number of buttons matters. New mouses advertising with higher dpi/hz, like this Copperhead one, can go f*ck themselves. =)

I would agree. However technology advances constantly, even mice will keep improving from time to time.
Dpi and hz are already at a point in wich improving them would not help gaming or other usage performance. Haveing a more stable mouse om more surfaces would. I hope new mouse will adress to those.

are you sure your ch is not broken? got one too. its working perfect on my mousepads (razer mantis, steel quick, icemat, destrukt and so on :D )

Or it was when I wrote this thread. Skipping problem still exists on Steelpad qck++. After I switched to 800dpi, it got alot better tho.

Has anyone tried Razer Copperhead with a Allsop gigapad?
It seems to me that Allsop pads just don't go with Copperhead. The mouse skips and lags all the time, the cursor is quivers constantly and so on. But when I try some other surface everything is cool - no lag, no skiping no nothing.
At the moment I'm using a metal tray as a temporary pad until I figure out which mouse pad to buy.

My Copperhead had exact same problems with allsop. So I've been using copperhead on func1030 for half a year now without any problems but I'd like to switch to cloth pad. I just read some reviews and it seems that Razer Mantis could be a wise choice as copperhead + cloth mousepad combo. Anyone got experience of that combo?

I use the copperhead with the DKT , at 1000Hz and 2000dpi. Never had any skipping issues as yet.

I've had no problems with my Copperhead. In fact its the best mouse I have ever used and believe me, I tried them all from MS to G5's.
No skipping, no accuracy issues at all.
I don't even use a mouse mat lol.... I cut out a section of sticky backed plastic (the kind your mum covered the shelves in the pantry with lol) and just stuck it to my desk surface "cost" about $1.00

What a lot of people forget to do is to enable the usb pollrate switch in Xp via the registry (plenty of free utilities will do this for you) so you can actually run at 1000hz with the utility, also changing usb ports doesn't help either (xp only selects one as default)

I run 800dpi @1000 hz poll rate and I have to say it's damn deadly
and does exactly what it says on the box.

#42 works for Razer. Copperhead is a piece of crap if you use very low sensitivity
